To celebrate the release of FOUR, pop group One Direction—minus the dashing Zayn Malik—performed a slew of their biggest hits on The Today Show. Their set not only included their most recent track "Steal My Girl," but the lone quartet performed "What Makes You Beautiful" and "Little Things" (among other standout cuts).
Due to an undetermined sickness, Malik was not present for the Orlando Invasion. Arriving by boat, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson took the stage to hundreds and hundreds of admirers. Prior to their explosive performance, they chatted briefly with reporter Matt Lauer (video below). "[Zayn] has a bit of a tummy bug," says Payne. "We only found out this morning, so we are really sad he couldn't be here." When asked if rumors of substance abuse was the cause, the crowd erupted in boos. Payne quickly shot down that allegation.
Early predictors indicate One Direction's FOUR could be the year's second biggest release, following Taylor Swift's 1989 last month. The album's lead-in, the uptempo anthem "Steal My Girl," featured a music video with Danny DeVito. The band has followed it up with "Night Changes," which is now going for adds at Top 40 radio.
