Parmalee has quickly become one of the most promising country groups in recent years, garnering their first No. 1 smash hit last year with "Carolina." Lifted from their Feels Like Carolina debut set, these boys dive headfirst into a hot remix and are ready to take the Top 40 charts by storm. The band is comprised of brothers Matt and Scott Thomas (lead vocals/ guitar and drums, respectively), cousin Barry Knox (bass) and life long best friend Josh McSwain (guitar).
"Carolina," which is a tribute to the band's home state of North Carolina, became a multi-week No. 1 on the Mediabase and Billboard radio charts. As the longest-climbing single by a duo or group in the history of the Billboard Country Airplay chart, it has been certified gold by the RIAA with sales exceeding 500,000 downloads. As of December 2013, this milestone lead the group to have the first No. 1 by a duo or group since Florida Georgia Line. That's marvelous company to be in!
Last year, the group was selected by Southwest Airlines to perform inflight from Nashville to Houston, singing their songs for passengers 35,000 feet in the air. Talk about an insurmountable accomplishment! It doesn't get any higher than that!
Their debut single “Musta Had A Good Time” spent a whopping four consecutive weeks at the summit on SiriusXM The Highway’s fan-voted “Hot 30 LIVE” countdown. Meanwhile, the song’s video reached the top on CMT’s PURE 12-Pack Countdown.
Parmalee's influences truly do run the gamut, from the Allman Brothers to Travis Tritt to Bob Seger.
If this new "hot mix" is any indication, these boys could become superstars in 2014. Watch out!
