The 51-year-old Nancy Shevell became the third bride of legendary rock singer/songwriter and ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, after the late Linda Eastman and the embattled Heather Mills. The AP reports that the two were wed at a town hall in Central London, with a tent set up at Sir Paul's nearby house for a post-ceremony reception. Shevell is the Vice President of New England Motor Freight, a transportation company owned by her father Mike, and serves on the board of New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Her dress was said to be designed by Paul's fashion magnate daughter Stella.
Congratulations to Sir Paul and his lucky bride. We suppose the good thing about having written a couple dozen of the greatest love songs in the history of popular music is that you don't really have to worry about writing new vows each time you get married. A couple lines from "Maybe I'm Amazed," a touch of "Here, There and Everywhere," and some of the general sentiment of "My Love" and you're basically guaranteed to bring the house down. Saves a lot of time and pre-wedding stress.
