Pop-rock queen P!nk will take the stage at this year's Oscars, The Academy announced on Friday (Feb. 21).
"We are very excited to welcome Pink to the Oscar® stage for the very first time," said show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron in an official statement. "She is regarded as one of the greatest voices in pop music and one of the best performers of her generation, and we are thrilled to have her join us for a highly anticipated moment on the broadcast.”
The acrobatic performer expressed her joy on Twitter, "Big news!!! I'd like to thank @TheAcademy for inviting me to perform on the #Oscars on March 2nd!! #holycow."
Daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres also shared in the excitement, "Big news! @Pink is performing at the #Oscars! I don't know what she has planned, but I'm bringing my safety net just in case."
With three Grammy Awards and six MTV Video Music Awards to her credit, the chart-topping songstress wills surely be the night's biggest moment. Last year, P!nk was named Billboard's Woman Of The Year -- highlighting her impressive career, which includes 40 million albums and 65 million singles sold.
The Oscars, hosted by DeGeneres, go live Sunday, March 2 from the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center and will be broadcast on the ABC Network at 8 p.m. EST.
