The end of June need not mean the end of Pride.

Despite Trump's efforts to erase the LGBTQ+ community's achievements, National Ocean Month just doesn't quite have the kick that Pride Month does. He was even trolled successfully by one of the teachers of the year who came to visit the White House donning a rainbow pin and a black lace fan. You may not have come to this playlist looking for a mini-political rant, but to separate the political from Pride--and from where we are now as a society--does a grave injustice to the activists who fought for every person on the streets of 5th Ave holding hands, covered in glitter, and waving rainbow flags. We still have a long way to go, but the trailblazers are not at forgotten.

This week's playlist celebrates Pride, and the artists who make it. From noted gay icons to powerful LGBTQ+ artists, you'll find everything from well-known heartbreakers Lana Del Rey, Troye Sivan, and Frank Ocean to the queer punk rock of bands like Tomboi and Blur. This doesn't mean the end of the corporate homo-nationalist white-washed Pride, but those are thoughts for another post.

For now, enjoy the music, and revel in the end of a month that's official, whether or not the president seems to think so.
