Before the DONDA announcement, and subsequent explosion of loose plans and prophecies, Kanye West took to Twitter to promise us a new G.O.O.D. Music album in 2012. Good, no great, news for all those who enjoyed Yeezy's weekly free releases leading up to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in 2010, as well as the roster of artists he's collected for his label. With Watch the Throne in the books and a few sparing DJ sets to his name, it appears West is ready to get back to studio work, releasing new G.O.O.D. single, "Mercy," on Friday April 6. (The same day One Direction's Madison Square Garden tickets go on sale?! Someone get me a latte while I rearrange s few things.)
The track reportedly features West, Big Sean, and Pusha T, who took to Twitter to reveal Friday's event, stealing a good deal of thunder from Yeezy, the Easter Bunny and Jesus. Sorry, but he's serious about this one, as seen in the five separate tweets about the upcoming release/play on the Christian holiday. He's also left us with only two days to speculate what the track will sound like, if West will incorporate it into one of those aforementioned DJ sets and whether or not there will be a video. Yeezy hasn't strayed away from marginally religious holiday tunes before, so go out on a limb and add it to your Easter Egg Playlist for the coming weekend.
