A proud tradition in pop music, revived this year through Taylor Swift's "Sparks Fly" and now Rihanna's "Cheers (Drink to That)" videos, is the last single tour video—the clip where everyone says "eh, we tried hard enough coming up with ideas and costumes and shit for the first four or five videos of this album, let's just string together some tour footage and shit and call it a rap." To be fair, both vids are fairly stellar examples of the archetype, fun and pretty-looking and (in the case of Rihanna's, anyway) celebrity-laden, as Jay-Z, Cee Lo, Kanye and Avril Lavigne (whose "I'm With You" the song sorta-samples) all show up for split-second cameos. Plus, Rihanna's taken enough heat for her music videos this year—she probably deserved a break with this one.
