Ryan Cabrera is embarking on his first new album in seven years, and as the lead-in, he delivers an arena-sized rock-tinged anthem "House On Fire." It's a plucky addition to Top 40, officially impacting radio in the new year, but it is already gaining early support with SiriusXM Hits 1. Marking his first release on Dynamite Music (founded by Mitch Davis and Marco Liuzzo) and in partnership with Caroline, an independent leg of Capitol Music Group/UMG, it is the platinum-selling pop singer's first release after 2013's "I See Love."
Cabrera is also putting the finishing touches on a yet-untitled EP, to also hit retail in 2015.
For the anticipated album, he is working with a slew of acclaimed songwriters and producers, including Justin Gray (Mariah Carey, Amy Winehouse), DJ White Shadow (Lady Gaga), Shelly Peiken (Christina Aguilera, Ed Sheeran) and Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift, Colbie Caillat), among many others. He is also collaborating fellow musicians Evan Ross and We Are Kings' Travis Clark.
"House On Fire" is a searing undertaking and hoisted by electronic-dance elements and an ear-worm hook, Cabrera is on to something here. Smashing the Hot 100 is automatic, right?
