Rye Rye Samples a '90s Dance Hit For an '80s Video Game Music Video

You know Rye Rye still hasn't even released an album? The Baltimore rapper/singer been around for about three or four years already, and the projected tracklist for eventual debut Go! Pop! Bang! is littered with dozens of songs that could maybe possibly be on her eventual album, but no details for certain, beyond a May 15th release date. Hopefully one of the tracks actually on the album will be "Boom Boom," Rye Rye's synth-heavy jam interpolating the chorus to the Vengaboys' "Boom Boom Boom Boom" (not to be confused with P.O.D.'s "Boom," Paul Lekakis' "Boom Boom" or the Outhere Brothers' "Boom Boom Boom")—one of the most inspired and overdue sample hooks of this short year to date, for sure.

Cool '80s-inspired video game video, too—equal parts Scott Pilgrim, "Bulletproof" and "What What (In the Butt)." Last part may not have been intentional, but whatever works.
