There are millions of Beliebers who would happily relinquish their first born in order to receive a voicemail like this from Justin Bieber:
"Hey babe, it's me. Um, I just wanted to call and tell you that I love you so so so so much. I just wanted to let you know that you are my princess. You are worthy of all the love in the world. You are the love of my life."
The "princess" in question is—duh doy—Selena Gomez, who has not only saved her ex-prince's voicemail, but has included it at the opening of "Love Will Remember," the finale track on her upcoming album Stars Dance. Check it:
Like Drake before her, Selena understands the power of musically exploiting a phone call.
The piano-driven mid-tempo ballad—which we'd musically liken to, believe it or not, "Payphone"—is, in Selena's words, "the most personal track on the record." Still, anyone who's been through a breakup with a first love will relate to the sentiment. "Forever will forever be ours/Even if we try to forget/Love will remember," she sings, lamenting and honoring the everlasting power of this relationship. Is this track her seal of closure, or is she still feeling burned?
Jelena supporters: It might be time to stop Beliebing.
