Premiere: Sleeptalkre Offer Up Mysterious & Twisty "Fractions" Music Video

The Nashville synth-pop duo delight in a tale of dark romance and money in their brand new video, a sample of their forthcoming new EP.

"I will be watching you drowning in the hole you dug," synth-pop duo Sleeptalkre (formerly the Queen and King) warble on their self-assured and brassy new track "Fractions," in which a game of cat and mouse ensues as the players become entangled in their own versions of the chase. Following their colorful reinvention of The Chainsmokers & Rozes' hit single "Roses" early last year, lead vocalist Caroline Shumate and collaborator Greg Graves are readying their debut project, the aptly titled Pep Talk EP. "Fractions" serves as the proper introduction of the release, and the accompanying music video--which premieres exclusively today--sees the feverish dance track get a rather bold and twisty story line. As a young woman's father dotes on her BFF, a heist-like narrative is intertwined with a story of romance and deception...but sometimes things aren't always as they seem. The mysterious ending will leave you shook.

"'Fractions' was a complete accident for us. We wrote it the day before we went into the studio to start recording our EP, and the demo came together in a couple of hours," the duo share with Popdust of the song. "It's so confident and sure of itself. We had to have it on our record. It's definitely our sassiest song that we've written, and we're pumped to have it as the first release for Sleeptalkre."

The upcoming Pep Talk EP, out everywhere Feb. 3, is soaked with utter EDM fire, as found on standouts likes "Doubt Myself" and "Muscle Memory."

Shumate and Graves first met when they both toured as part of Tyler Ward's band in 2014. Their chemistry was undeniable and instantaneous. They knew they had to work together. They've since notched millions of streams on Spotify; their mashup of "Cool Kids" and "Riptide" has more than 43 million, while their version of Justin Bieber's "Sorry" has surpassed an impressive three million. Quite an remarkable feat for a couple of up and coming noise-makers in Nashville.

"Fractions" is now available on iTunes.
