Joan Rivers died in September 2014 at the age of 81 after suffering a cardiac arrest following plastic surgery.

Her death came as a shock to many, as in spite of her age, she appeared to be in good health and was anything but a frail old lady.

The internet has been awash with suspicion ever since and we at Popdust feel it's our duty to prove or debunk the main theory.

The Theory

As we all know, Joan Rivers' acerbic wit was the stuff of legends.

She crossed the line on many occasions, including just two months before her untimely death when she made a public claim that President Obama is homosexual and that Michelle Obama is in fact a transsexual.

Conspiracy theorists were very quick to claim that she had made one enemy too many in the First Family and her that her life had been in danger.

Conspiracy Theory Thursday — Is Jim Morrison Alive?

The coma and 'death' were merely a cover up, they claim, and Joan is actually alive and well and in an FBI witness protection program.

Conspiracy Theory Thursday—Tupac Shakur Faked His Death

The "Proof"

  • Joan had had many plastic surgeries before and never encountered a problem until that last one, when her alleged death was caused by a biopsy on her vocal chords—nothing to do with the surgery she had gone in for.
  • She was upbeat before supposedly slipping into a coma and had just done a comedy show prior to the surgery. She was certainly not infirm.
  • Joan's name was mysteriously left out of the 'In Memoriam" list of names at the 2015 Oscars
  • Video footage has emerged of 'Joan' with her good friend Clive Davis in February this year. There is a distinct likeness between Joan and the woman in the video clip, but that likeness becomes uncanny when you hear the lady speak.

Why would she need witness protection?

Conspiracy Theory Thursday—Beyonce And The Illuminati

Here are a few pieces of evidence supporting the claims around the Obama's that Joan unwisely repeated—believe us when we say there are many, many more.

Conspiracy Theory Thursday — Was Bob Marley Killed By The CIA?

  • Some body proportion differences between and a woman remain constant, ie shoulder to waist ratio etc. With these constants we see that Michelle Obama's body is mathematically that of a man, not a woman.
  • In a speech on September 30, 2011 at the transition ceremony, Obama mistakenly called his wife "Michael" —see video below

Conspiracy Theory Thursday—Jamie Lee Curtis Is A Hermaphrodite

  • For the speech that Michelle gave at the 2008 Democratic National Convention, she wore a clingy fabric aqua dress which showed every lump, bump and bulge. There have been many pictures which show a certain something at crotch level. Yes you could argue that pictures can be photoshopped, but the screen grabs taken from the actual video definitely show zero body fat around her belly (unusual for a woman, let alone one who's had two children) and a tugging / dipping around the crotch area.

Conspiracy Theory Thursday— Paul McCartney Died In 1966

Check out the un-doctored crotch area

  • Former Secret Service agent Paul Horner reveals in his tell-all book that he is 100% positive that President Obama is gay and that he witnessed a string of male late night visitors to the Presidential bedroom.
  • Kevin DuJan, a gossip columnist in Chicago during Obama's years as a community organizer and an Illinois senator alleges that the President was actively involved in the city's gay bar and bathhouse scene and that it is "preposterous to the people I knew then to think Obama was going to keep his gay life secret". Investigative journalist Wayne Madsen also confirms that Obama's visits to local gay bars and bathhouses was "common knowledge" in the community.
  • Author, Dr Jerome Corsi suggests that Obama may have been married to a former roommate. He says, "Obama had all these roommate pictures [where he] seems to be sitting about on the guy's lap" and he also claims that BO was photographed wearing a wedding ring many years before his marriage to Michelle.

Kathy Griffin has quit E!'s Fashion Police because she thinks it's too mean.

In a surprising move, the comic—who was brought in following the death of Joan Rivers-- released a statement via Twitter saying:

“I thought I could bring my brand of humor to Fashion Police so that beautiful people in beautiful dresses could be teased when appropriate. My brand of humor, while unrepentant and unafraid, is all about CONTEXT. There’s plenty to make fun of in pop culture without bringing people’s bodies into it.”

She didn’t mention the whole Zendaya patchouli oil thing, which was rumored to have caused Kelly Osbourne to quit, but she did add:

“I do not want to use my comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference.”

Which to us speaks a thousand words.

Melissa Rivers is filing a multimillion dollar lawsuit against the clinic and doctors she considers responsible for Joan Rivers' death.

Joan passed away in September 2014 from surgery-related complications, and Melissa is finally suing Yorkville Endoscopy, and the doctors who negligently performed surgery on her mother, for gross medical malpractice.

According to court documents, the doctors didn't perform a tracheotomy on 81-year-old Joan when she stopped breathing after an unplanned biopsy was performed.

"The level of medical mismanagement, incompetency, disrespect and outrageous behavior is shocking and frankly, almost incomprehensible," Melissa wrote in the lawsuit. “Not only did my mother deserve better, every patient deserves better."

Also being sued is Joan's personal doctor Gwen Korovin, who apparently shouldn't have even been the the room and passed the time taking selfies of an unconscious Joan. When things started to go badly wrong, Korovin straight up just abandoned Joan because she knew she'd get in trouble for being there in the first place and "wanted to avoid getting caught."

UGH.

“Had doctors acted as physicians for Joan Rivers instead of groupies, Joan Rivers would have been doing Fashion Police last week,” Melissa’s lawyer Jeffrey Bloom, told the New York Daily News.

Yorkville Endoscopy are apparently set to lose their accreditation at the end of the month - go get 'em, Melissa!

Look Back At Joan Rivers’ Amazing Life And Career!

Kelly Osbourne is honoring her late friend Joan Rivers with a beautiful little bumblebee tattoo.

Kelly took pictures as she got the new ink at Shamrock in Hollywood, explaining why she chose the little critter to remember Joan by.

"Getting a tattoo from tattoo legend #MarkMahoney @sharmrockSocialClub!" the 29-year-old captioned an Instagram picture on Thursday. "In honor of you @joanrivers…'If you looked at aerodynamics, at science, the bumble bee should not be able to fly. "'Physically, it was just not anatomically equipped to soar. Yet it did, defying gravity, defying logic. The bee was a creature that defied and beat the odds, a miracle.' Thank you for being my Miracle @joanrivers."

So sweet...Kelly has known Joan her whole life, appearing on The Joan Rivers Show with the rest of the Osbournes in 1991, when she was just 6 years old. And then of course they were co-hosts on E!'s Fashion Police.

RIP Joan! We all miss you!

Melissa Rivers has inherited over $100 million - the bulk of her late mother Joan Rivers' estate.

That includes $75 million in cash and Joan's Upper East Side condo in New York, which is worth $35 million. Melissa's 13-year-old son Cooper has his own inheritance from his grandmother, reports Us.

As Popdust previously reported, Joan's autopsy results show she died of complications associated with surgery - in other words, the death was entirely preventable.

"We continue to be saddened by our tragic loss," Melissa tweeted when the news broke. "No further comment at this time."

She was clearly touched by the huge outpouring of love and remembrance from the public, thanking everyone for their kind thoughts and wishes.

“As my son Cooper and I mourn the loss of my mother, we want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and flowers conveying heartfelt messages and condolences, which continue to arrive from around the world and through social media. My mother would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her. It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time,” the 46-year-old said.

“We are forever grateful for your kindness and support in continuing to honor my mother’s legacy, and for remembering the joy and laughter that she brought to so many.”

We're guessing some huge, huge wrongful death lawsuits are in the works - and Melissa now has the money to really go for it.

RIP Joan!

Joan Rivers died of complications resulting from surgery, her official autopsy confirms.

The legendary comedienne passed away on Sep 4 in New York City, after what should have been a routine procedure.

"OCME [Office of the Chief Medical Examiner] has completed its investigation. The cause of Ms. Rivers’ death is anoxic encephalopathy due to hypoxic arrest during laryngoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with propofol sedation for evaluation of voice changes and gastroesophageal reflux disease. The manner of death is therapeutic complication," spokeswoman Julie Bolcer said in a statement via The Hollywood Reporter. "The classification of a death as a therapeutic complication means that the death resulted from a predictable complication of medical therapy."

Joan's daughter Melissa Rivers also released a statement thanking everyone for sending love to the family.

"We continue to be saddened by our tragic loss and grateful for the enormous outpouring of love and support from around the world.  We have no further comment at this time."

RIP Joan!
