Yulia Volkova, one of the faux-lesbian gay-for-pay chicks who make up cheesy Russian pop duo, t.A.T.u. is actually an ignorant, raging homophobe in real life.
Wait, what, hold up? What about all that girl-on-girl kissing, tonguing, petting? Why, it simply doesn’t compute!
However, in Yulia’s twisted mind, it all makes perfect sense—the 29-year-old recently shared her bigoted hateful views with the Russian public, claiming during a TV interview, she would "condemn" her son for being gay.
When the interviewer asked how she would react if her son was gay, she explained, “I would condemn him, because I believe that a real man must be a real man. God created man for procreation, it is the nature. The man for me is the support, the strength of... I won't accept a gay son.”
Paradoxically, if her daughter came out as a lesbian…all good! ‘Cuz it’s hot, Volkova claimed, explaining girl-on-girl action is "aesthetically much nicer” (presumably, she’s referring to straight male pornography depictions of “lesbians” here, because I’ve seen plenty in my time that most certainly wouldn’t fit many people’s idea of “aesthetically much nicer”….
“Two girls together - not the same thing as the two men together,” she said. “It seems to me that lesbians look aesthetically much nicer than two men holding their hands or kissing.”
Oh! That explains it! So, she’s NOT homophobic? No, no, of course not, it's just a matter of aesthetics! In fact, as Volkova went on to explain—she hasn’t got anything against gay men, per se, in fact she thinks they are "a little better" than murderers!—she just wants her own son to be a “real” man!
“But! I want to say that I'm not against gays, I just want my son to be a real man, not a fag,” she said, seemingly unaware that dropping the F-bomb doesn't really go far towards proving her non-homophobia claims....Oh, but wait! It gets EVEN better!
“I have many gay friends," she continued. "I believe that being gay is all still better than murderers, thieves or drug addicts. If you choose out of all this, being gay a little better than the rest.”
Well, that clears it all up then!
Thankfully however, in what affords us a little glimmer of hope for the future of human rights in Putin’s Russia—Lena Katina, the other half of tAtU, has a WAY better outlook.
The 29-year-old made it clear, in a Facebook post, that she most definitely does NOT share her bandmate’s beliefs.
"Hey, all! I am seeing some comments lately regarding my position about LGBT and my religion. I can say one thing: God is teaching us to live in love, to be tolerant and not to judge other people! And I do so! Love is love and it is a wonderful feeling! I think everybody should be free to love who they love and be with who they want to spend their life with! Xoxo"
Amen to that sister!
