David Gest, the ex-husband of Liza Minnelli has been found dead in his hotel room in England.
Cops were called to the Four Seasons Hotel in London at 10:17 am where the ambulance service was also in attendance.
Gest was 62 and the alarm was raised by his friend and former bodyguard Imad Handi. Police say the cause of death is unclear and an autopsy has been scheduled. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Mr Handi said;
'It is with great sadness that I can confirm that David Gest has died today. David was truly larger than life. He was not just a huge talent and a dear friend but a showbiz icon.
'I know he will be missed by millions of fans around the world, and particularly in Britain, who came to love his charm and blistering one-liners. If I may steal the words of one eminent critic.'
Gest was a long time friend of Michael Jackson and was famously married to Liza Minnelli from 2002 to 2007. He later accused her of physical abuse during their relationship.

The soul producer had appeared on several reality shows, endearing himelf to both his fellow stars and the viewing public with his hilarious stories and anecdotes. He was the subject of the most bizarre, yet hilarious misunderstanding earlier this year when appearing on the UK's Celebrity Big Brother. He was unwell and had been in bed for some time when Angie Bowie was called into the diary room to be told of her ex-husband, David Bowie's death.
When she left the diary room in shock, she told fellow housemate, Tiffany Pollard, "David is dead"—of course meaning David Bowie, but naturally Tiffany assumed she meant housemate David Gest and ran around the house screaming "David is dead, David is dead" before she was calmed down and told the real story.

On the back of that misunderstanding and with his popularity in the UK, Gest was scheduled to appear in a soul revival theatre tour starting in July named "David Gest Is Not Dead But Alive With Soul".
