Taylor Swift is ready to slay us all. The Queen of Country-Pop has been hard at work writing and recording new music for months and months and months, and we now have the first taste of what could be coming next.
USA Today journalist Brian Mansfield took to his Twitter page last night (April 15) to reveal a delicious tidbit: "Overheard today, from someone who has listened to new @TaylorSwift13 music: 'It's like the other albums were practice for this one.'"
Swift then proceeded to RT this morning. If what Mansfield heard is true, what exactly does the pop superstar have in store? Well, he also hints that "her subject matter has broadened," in replying to a fan about her musical direction on the next record.
Following 2012's multi-platinum Red set, which spawned several chart-topping hits (including "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "I Knew You Were Trouble."), there is really nothing she can't do at this point. Hopefully she continues exploring cooler and fresher sounds, too. More diverse themes would be a good move, as well.
And that's it, Swifties. Don't mind us as we crouch in the corner and rock back 'n forth...
