The Teen Choice Awards is the semi-awkward, hormonally fueled event, where celebrities bring their kids (hello, Beckham children) and vie for the chance to take home their very own surfboard emblazoned with the Fox logo. But it's also a representation of, literally, what the young folks are into these days, and nothing was more apparent than the pull of pop Prom Queen and King, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. The undisputed winners of the 13th annual award show took home five and four boards, respectively on Sunday night. Gomez continued her big summer, off the release of new album When The Sun Goes Down and feature film Monte Carlo, winning Choice Music Group (Selena Gomez and the Scene), Choice Music Single ("Who Says"), Choice Music Love Song ("Love You Like A Love Song"), Choice TV Actress (Wizards of Waverly Place) and Choice Female Hottie. Boyfriend Bieber received four awards, including Choice Male Music Artist and Choice Male Hottie, to the satisfaction of Beliebers everywhere who still haven't forgotten those Hawaii photos. To continue to flash signs of modernity, the TCAs also handed out awards that recognized the undeniable influence of the Internet: Choice Twit, which went to the 11-million follower strong account of Bieber, and Choice Web Star, going to none other than 2011's weekend enthusiast, Rebecca Black.

But there were also performances! Gomez gave a dark and romantic rendition of single "Love You Like A Love Song," Jason Derulo once again proved his dance moves outweigh his questionable lyrical choices and One Republic did their best to get another emotional, catchy chorus stuck in your head. Even winner Ashton Kutcher (Choice Movie Actor-Romantic Comedy, No Strings Attached) catered to the prepubescent crowd, covering Choice Summer Music Star Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream." Kutcher kicked the night off by leading a stadium-wide chant meets singalong of Perry's track that even Taylor Swift approved of.
