It's a little tough to know what to make of Katy Perry and John Mayer's on-again, off-again romance—is it a rebound relationship for both? A poisonous relationship for Katy? A media-overblown hookup or two? A PR invention to keep both in the news while they're in between album cycles? We don't know well enough to say, but one guy who apparently does is Wall Street titan (slash reality TV star) Donald Trump, who offered his unsolicited advice about the coupling to Katy Perry yesterday:
.@katyperry is no bargain but I don't like John Mayer--he dates and tells--be careful Katy (just watch!).— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 19, 2012
Somehow, Trump's "no bargain" comment about Katy Perry seems far more insulting than any warning he has to offer about Mayer—we didn't even know Katy was supposed to be coming at a discount price or anything—but of course the real question is: Why the hell is Donald Trump offering his relationship advice to celebrities of any kind? Perez Hilton seems to think he's trying to position himself for some sort of Love Guru-type reality show, and we're a little terrified he might be right.
Of course, that doesn't mean we don't want to hear what The Donald has to say about Justin and Selena, or Taylor and Conor, or the 1D guys and whoever. C'mon, Trump—who's the better bargain, Niall or Louis?
