The Original Choice for Marnie on "Girls" Was NOT Allison Williams

Allison Williams basically, like, is Marnie at this point. (Channeling our inner-Shoshanna here.) So it might shock you to know that she almost, like, wasn't.

The original choice for the best friend of Lena Dunham's character "Hannah" on Girls was actually Lena Dunham's real life BFF Audrey Gelman. Gelman turned the offer down in order to keep her job as the spokeswoman for Manhattan borough president Scott Stringer. With the crazy success of Girls, homegirl might be left with a tinge of regret.

Gelman did have a small arc on the show as Marnie's boyfriend Charlie's new girlfriend appropriately named "Audrey."

Is that not, like, totally freaking crazy?
