The Wanted tried out a cover of the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" during a stop in Manchester on their UK radio tour this weekend. The guys crept out on unsuspecting—but likely hopeful—Fanmily members and climbed atop their tour bus for an intimate acoustic performance. Tom and Siva played guitar wile Nathan conducted the eager audience singing along and Max readies for his close-up. So many hoods, and so much swaying; Jay looks like a jolly Christmas elf in that a precious red beanie. It's all very cute and makes us want to curl up to dream about running away with a supernatural being of our own.
But they're not the only ones pulling out the City of Angels theme for live performances: Taylor Swift brought out front man Johnny Rzeznik during her Madison Square Garden show last November to perform the track as a duet, heralding "Iris" as "one of the greatest songs ever written"; Beyoncé incorporated it into her Back to Business show in Atlantic City this May; and Kelly Clarkson took on the track during the fan request portion of her show in March, relishing the opportunity to sing a song from one of her favorite soundtracks of all-time. Fourteen years later and still holding up. We're sorry we ever doubted your longevity, Mr. Rzeznik.

Cage might not get what any of this means, but somewhere Meg Ryan's old face is smiling.
