It's not really that cool to like Victoria Justice now that Ariana Grande has blown up. After all, for years Ariana had to slum it as Victoria's underrated co-star, her powerhouse vocals left to rot behind a stack of Victorious soundtracks while Ms. Justice hogged the musical limelight. But it's unfair to start giving Vicky the cold shoulder all of a sudden -- especially now that she's just released her first post-Victorious single, "Gold," which is every bit as good as all the other Disney and Nickelodeon singles ruling the radio right now.

Just like Bridgit Mendler's totally amazing "Ready or Not," "Gold" is an easy, breezy, non-electro summer jam. It's not quite as catchy as Mendler's hit, but it does feature about ten-or-so seconds of Justice doing some Cher Lloyd-ish faux-rapping over a bass drop on the bridge, which is obviously a whole lot of fun.

"Gold" may not be the Mariah-sized smash that "The Way" is, but it's not bad. Not bad at all.
