There's something about melancholic dream popper, Jennie Vee. The siren/songwriter, whose debut LP, Spying, is a Rock 'n' Roll dream come true, absolutely boasts the bonafide rocker cred. In other words, Vee is also the Queen of Scream AKA Courtney Love's bad ass bassist. If you were lucky/blessed enough to nab tickets to last summer's Lana Del Rey x Courtney Love (down on the) West Coast leg of Del Rey's 'The Endless Summer' tour, you would've more than noticed Vee shredding it on the bass/whipping those beautiful blonde locks on stage in true burgeoning superstar form. Equally as killer is Vee's transcendent, Sofia Coppola-soundtrack-ready tunes and perpetually-stylish (she's rocked a ton of Love's 'Never The Bride' line) and often quirky/trippy/dark music videos. For proof, check out Vee's goosebump-inducing, twang-y bop, "Kiss The Dust," the final single release from Vee's moody dreamscape of a debut, and its recently released video. The Katrin Albert-directed clip finds the grunge goddess in a spooky post-apocalyptic situation, all the while clad in a beautiful hooded number. #NEED In short, someone give Vee an Inez and Vinoodh/Ellen Von Unwerth/insert another iconic fashion photographer here ____-shot fashion campaign, ASAP. As we anxiously await the buzzed-about star's forthcoming EP, due for October 15th (noticeably and aptly right before Halloween!), feast your festive eyes and ears on the fantastic "Kiss The Dust."
PS. You can/really should catch the Fender-endorsed bad ass musician on her headlining West Coast autumn tour. Head to Vee's perma-slaying Instagram for more info.
