One week after her body was discovered in her bathtub at the Beverly Hilton, Whitney Houston will finally be laid to rest at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey, tomorrow afternoon. The funeral will take place at 12:00 EST, and will be streamed live online by the Associated Press, as well as televised on certain local TV stations. The funeral is invitation-only, but will include such personal celebrity friends as Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and even Kevin Costner, who is rumored to be speaking at the affair.
The ceremony is being referred to by family as a "going home" celebration, rather than a straight funeral, with the invitation reading: "With heartfelt gratitude, the Houston Family requests the honor of your presence at the home going service for Whitney Elizabeth Houston." We won't be in attendance, but we will be watching, so be sure to check back here tomorrow afternoon for live coverage of the event.
