WWE Legend Chyna Was Planning A Return To Porn Prior To Her Death

WWE star Chyna was eyeing a return to porn with Vivid Entertainment Group prior to her untimely death

Joanie “Chyna” Laurer was getting into shape and planning a return to porn with Vivid Entertainment prior to her untimely death.

As Popdust previously reported, Laurer was found dead in her apartment last week—she was just 45-years old.

Backdoor Chyna

The WWE legend retired from the ring in 2001, and launched a successful career as an adult actress.

She appeared in four different Vivid videos, including Backdoor to Chyna and She Hulk XXX.

Vivid founder, Steve Hirsch told Page Six:

We were scheduled to meet this week to discuss [future films].

She was so popular and we wanted to work with her again.

Chyna was truly one of a kind.

I never heard her say a bad word about anyone and it was amazing to watch her interact with her fans.

She thrived on it and loved every minute — and they loved her back.

We were looking forward to working with her in the near future.

Possible overdose

According to reports, Chyna's manager, Anthony Anzaldo, discovered her unresponsive in her Redondo Beach, California, home last Wednesday.

It is believed Laurer's death was caused by a “possible overdose,” although the official cause has yet to be determined, pending toxicology reports.

Chyna’s struggles with drug and alcohol were widely documented, and she even appeared on the first season of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew back in 2008.

The Dr. Drew connection

During filming, Chyna skirted around admitting which substances she was abusing—telling Dr. Drew:

Frankly, I’m tired of saying the things that I have done and being accused of everything else.

I just feel like I lived in a hell forever.

And, sadly, the hit show proved ineffective in helping the wrestler defeat her demons.

In 2010, Chyna was reportedly hospitalized in Los Angeles after overdosing on sleeping medication.

Brokered Intervention deal

Following news of her death, Anzaldo admitted that he was aware his client had been taking Ambien and Valium.

Both are prescription drugs—they are used to treat for sleep deprivation and anxiety.

Anzaldo was so "concerned" over his client's drug use, he claims he had recently struck a deal with the producers of Intervention to get Chyna help.

He tells TMZ sports:

An interventionalist was already lined up as was a facility that was going to take her for 90 days.

Every minute counts

However, Chyna died before production on the show even started.

Which begs the question, if he was really that concerned about his client’s wellbeing, why did he immediately turn to a reality TV show to help her?!!!!

If someone is battling a serious addiction, every minute helps when it comes to getting them in to treatment.
