The smooth vocalist hits the beach in his latest visual, setting the stage for his debut EP.
Yonee first roped us in with his silky, caramel voice last year. "Bombs of My Love" introduced him as a courageous, charming and fearless singer-songwriter looking to change the world. With his follow-up, the sun-soaked "Paradise," he peels back the layers on his artistic depth, highlighting his tender, romantic side. "Heaven knows what we'll do tonight," he maintains against a thick background of cheery electronics and synths. "Praying for mercy. Your body is working to set my spirit free," he frames the liberating religious experience he witnesses in a relationship.
"This song really was the beginning of when I started to believe in myself enough to create art/music that I could share with the rest of the world," Yonee tells Popdust about the song. The vibrant visual, premiering today, sees Yonee hit the sandy beaches--a clearly-drawn manifestation of the intoxicating "Paradise" feeling his beau gives him. There is also another meaning: as his star begins to shimmer, there is a sense of validation and confidence permeating his work. He continues, "It has been a long exciting experience to get to this point. My journey started from my tiny university dorm studio in the windy city of Chicago to Music City USA: Nashville to the Hills of Los Angeles. The ride is amazing."
Yonee also recently dropped the hard-hitting piano ballad "Heart is Patient." The three tracks sample his forthcoming debut EP, 4 Corners, out later this year. Last year, "Bombs of My Love" rose to the Top 10 on Spotify's viral chart, a indication of his eventual superstar power.
