Tip to NBC Producers: Don't call your martial arts-inspired commercial for The Voice "Vocal Kombat" unless it's going to feature a lot of bicycle kicks, electricity shooting out of fingertips, and at least one bellowing of "GET OVER HEEEEERE!!!" To be fair, there are no easy Voice puns with Kill Bill, and that's the much more obvious inspiration here, down to Blake Shelton brandishing a microphone-cord whip a la Gogo Yubari (or Britney Spears, if you prefer) and Cee Lo Green even wearing a Bride-esque yellow jumpsuit. And, of course, there's "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" by Tomoyasu Hatei—better known as "that song from Kill Bill"—providing the soundtrack for Blake, Cee Lo, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera beating the crap out of one another.

It's a pretty cool, if not hugely original, spot, though it's tarnished somewhat by the late-game appearance of Betty White as a hotel resident whose room the hosts accidentally crash through. "It's about time somebody wanted me for my voice," White quips, "...and not my body!" Get it? She's old. (The Voice premieres tonight after Giants-Patriots II, by the way.)
