Why Every Busy Parent Needs To Know About Thistle
Being a mom of two young kids means I hardly have any time to focus on me. So, my diet has taken a back seat over the last few years.
I tend to graze and pick at my kids’ food since I rarely have time to prepare anything for myself, let alone anything nutritious.
Before having kids, I often made healthy, plant-based meals for myself. But much of my day would be taken up by chopping, prepping, and cooking (do you know how many recipes call for cashew cream?!) – time I can’t afford anymore.
After a few years of eating without thought, I was feeling lousy and sluggish. I needed to breathe fresh life into my diet but I had no idea where to start.
While venting to a friend at my yoga class, she recommended Thistle. They deliver meals, snacks, and even cold-pressed juices directly to your doorstep! Thistle offers breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, wellness shots, and juices. All their meals are chock full of superfoods.
Thistle is on a mission to make nutritious, plant-forward foods accessible and convenient. It sounded like exactly what I needed, but would the food be fresh? And how would it taste? I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it.
When I read that I can cancel my meal subscription at any time, I decided to give Thistle a shot. If it’s as good as it seemed, it would be a game-changer. I enjoy just looking at the menu – all the meals look super delicious.
I chose 5 lunches and dinners, but you can choose up to 10 breakfast, lunches, and dinners. You can also choose whether you want plant-based protein, meat, or both. I went with both.
When my meals arrived a few days later, I was eager to get started. I made PB&J sandwiches for the kids, so I had a few minutes to myself to eat. I tried Thistle‘s Crisp Japanese Yuzu Salad. I know. Salads can be boring, but this salad was crisp and delish. It was so flavorsome and satisfying, it tasted really fresh.
I had tons of energy the rest of the afternoon. For dinner, I had Aloo Gobi with Green Pea Chutney which only has to be heated for a few minutes! I And it was so yummy – what a difference and it was only my first day with Thistle. I was able to keep up with the kids and even get some chores done after dinner!
The rest of the week was fantastic. Thistle’s meals are zero prep or take only a few minutes in the microwave. It’s ideal for a busy parent like me who only gets a few minutes free at a time. My favorite meal of the week was definitely the Veggie Bibimbap for dinner.
Not only is it convenient, the meals are also extremely nutritious. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my energy levels since signing up for Thistle – it’s all those superfoods I’m eating now!
I like how Thistle caters to every diet – whether you’re a meat-eater or you’re vegan. Their menu is ever-changing and globally inspired, so I never get bored. It’s designed by nutritionists and crafted by chefs to provide your body the macronutrients, vitamins, and minerals you need, without compromising on taste.
Thistle offers 5.8 unique fruit and veggies per meal, plant or meat options, and over 40 superfoods like turmeric and matcha. I didn’t think these types of foods would be filling at all, but, surprisingly, they are.
Starting at only $42 a week, the energy boost and balanced diet is worth every penny! I’d highly recommend Thistle to anyone who’s busy and would like to eat more healthy, nutritious meals.
