Pure Pet Food — The Change Our Dog Needed

Pure Pet Food — The Change Our Dog Needed

Editor’s Note: Our beloved Frenchie, Pierre has a delicate stomach so feeding him any kind of dog food  — kibble, raw, tinned — was a complete gamble. And with the year winding down, we realised we couldn’t keep going like this. We gave Pure Pet Food a chance… and it makes a real difference. Read my full review below…

Before Pure Pet Food:

As a gorgeous French Bulldog, Pierre’s had tummy problems since he was a pup. Yes, we’ve tried everything — raw food, wet food, kibble, the whole parade. He’d eat something for a week or so, then came the “accidents,” and we were back to square one.

As we edged toward the end of the year, it was the perfect moment to stop scrambling for fixes and start a “fresh” food chapter.

We were sick of the inconvenience and the mess — dragging around heavy sacks or cramming the freezer with dog food instead of ice cream and frozen peas. If we’ve learned anything, it’s this: nutritious, premium-quality food for our cheeky pup can be pricey.

Then another Frenchie mum was on Instagram raving about Pure Pet Food — a natural, healthy dog food that takes the stress out of mealtimes. Based on past disasters, I expected this to be just one more high-end brand that Pierre would turn up his nose at.

But when I saw that Pure’s plans start at only £0.89 per day, I got curious. I read reviews from real pet parents going on about how healthy and affordable it is. Unlike frozen fresh food, Pure’s air-dried food is made from natural ingredients rather than ultra-processed pellets.

I didn’t expect it to hold up against the more expensive brands we’d tried. But Pure Pet Food is easily digestible, packed with nutrients and contains no artificial preservatives or chemicals found in many kibbles. It’s suitable for two-month-old puppies to old age and is ideal for those with sensitivities. That’s exactly why it caught my eye for Pierre.

I answered a few quick questions about his age, breed, weight, activity level, treats and his sensitive stomach so they could work out the appropriate portions and recipes. I really appreciated Pure’s care and attention, so I went ahead and placed the order.

Happy Pup, Happy Home:

Pure’s recipes use real meat and vegetables, no mystery fillers. Their range includes Turkey with Broccoli & Spinach, Salmon with Sweet Strawberries, Duck & Veggie Medley, Herring and Chicken — brilliant! The variety made me hopeful that Pierre would latch onto these delish-sounding dishes.

When the box arrived, I worried Pierre would do his usual “sniff, consider, reject” routine, but he surprised us. Once rehydrated, the food smells genuinely fresh — he tried Salmon first, and ate the lot — clean bowl, so no waste.

Within days, his digestive upset settled — no bloating, no grumbling, no emergencies. His stools became firmer and more consistent (a miracle for Frenchie parents), and he finally stopped skipping meals. His energy picked up, too.

Now, Pierre dances around my feet, waiting for his brekkie like it’s the highlight of his day. Pure really is complete nutrition from the inside out, and he clearly loves the taste.

On the practical side. Bliss. Pure Dog Food can stay fresh for months without sacrificing nutrition. Just store it in the cupboard — convenient, space-saving, and easy to prepare. All I need to do is add water and serve. Mealtimes are calm, he’s thriving, and we finally feel like we’ve found what works for him.

Final Thoughts

As we head into the new year, we’re thrilled that Pierre’s tummy trouble has finally calmed down and he relishes his Pure Pet Food — a terrific setup for a long, healthy life.

Pure is an amazing value for the quality you get. On average, it comes out around 30% less than fresh or raw subscriptions, while still offering food that’s healthier and easier to digest. Delivery is fast and free across the UK, and I can switch delivery dates, so I never feel locked in.

They work with leading nutritionists, which helps explain why they’ve delivered over 30 million meals to thousands of happy dogs, with 91% showing improved overall health — all without any animal testing.

Fresh, tasty and safe, I have no hesitation in recommending Pure Pet Food’s fresh-dried meals. What a top-notch choice for our best friends — who just happen to be dogs.
