DDG’s Restraining Order “Clapback” Against Halle Bailey Just Failed
This love story isn’t giving a Disney fairytale ending vibe… like, at all. DDG and Halle Bailey’s relationship was always riddled with drama. But now that they’re officially over, their public attacks against each other have only gotten more intense.
The rapper and actress share one child named Halo. He was welcomed into the world in December 2023. Halle successfully filed a restraining order against DDG in May 2025, and he outrageously tried to clap back by filing one against her! The attempt didn’t work out in his favor. Stick around for the messy details.
DDG and Halle Bailey’s Toxic Stew
According to TMZ, DDG requested a temporary restraining order against Halle, but he was denied on June 5. As of this publication, Halle maintains the freedom to travel outside the country with Halo, whether her trips are personal or professional.
DDG wanted to block Halle from dragging Halo along with her while filming movies in different locations like London, New Orleans, Sardinia, and other fabulous locales! The judge decided DDG wasn’t about to get his way. This update comes weeks after Halle went public with claims that DDG physically abused her and sent her threatening text messages.
The worst accusation of all? She says he chipped her tooth by slamming her face into a steering wheel. Pics of her bruised body were leaked. Accusations of threatening texts have also been spun into the conversation. According to the BBC, Halle’s restraining order against DDG went through on May 14th.
Their breakup is more chaotic by the minute. But it doesn’t look like this is slowing down Halle’s brilliant career. She’s booked and busy with a loaded schedule amid this hell. Interestingly enough, DDG seems to be on the same page.
Halle Bailey & DDG Are Both Booked and Busy
Halle has two notable movies scheduled for release this year. First up, Atlantis, a musical directed by Michael Gundry and produced by none other than Pharrell Williams. Its soundtrack promises to be as mesmerizing as the plot. And then, there’s Italianna — a rom-com where Halle teams up with the charming Regé-Jean Page. You might recognize him from Netflix‘s Bridgerton.
After carving a name for herself in the Hollywood industry as Ariel in the live-action version of The Little Mermaid, the world is Halle’s oyster! Let’s just hope the drama surrounding her split with DDG doesn’t have a negative impact on the incredible talent she brings to the big screen. On top of that, Halle just dropped the heartfelt ballad ‘Because I Love You’ — another example of her versatility that’s bound to resonate with fans.
As far as DDG goes, his streaming presence and rap music career are still at the forefront of his mind. Within the last three months, he’s released several new music videos like “What I Prefer” that have amassed millions of views.
He also attended Kai Cenat’s Streamer University, a viral campus event designed to guide content creators in the right direction. Since both Halle and DDG have positive things to focus on these days, you’d think it would be easier for them to co-parent in an easy-going way. But based on their ongoing drama and trauma, it’s quite unlikely.
Here’s Why Their Squabbles Seem Unending
There’s been no shortage of heart-wrenching moments between DDG and Halle played out in the public eye, and fans are starting to believe their tumultuous saga may never come to an end. Who can forget when DDG’s ex, Rubi Rose, revealed he’d been secretly texting her behind Halle’s back during one of their heated arguments?”
Or… what about the time DDG released a diss track about Halle, accusing her of cheating on him with her co-star from The Little Mermaid? In “Famous,” DDG raps, “I been so insecure that I be thinkin’ you really be f***in’ niggas you in movies with.”
Completely unhinged, if you ask us!
Before Halle was granted her restraining order, DDG made claims that she was hiding his son from him. That accusation caused plenty of social media users to attack Halle in her comment sections. Who knows when (or if) the drama between Halle and DDG will ever lighten up? It’s not looking good.
