Everything I Loved About My Tend Visit
All my life, I hated going to the dentist. So when my roommate told me there was a new dentist’s office by our apartment that was breaking the norm, I was pretty hesitant. He told me it was called Tend and that I could book my first dental cleaning and checkup in under 4 minutes.
When I first walked into one of Tend’s NYC locations, my first thought was “This can’t be a dentist’s office.” The furniture was modern, sleek, and honestly calmed me right on down. It was clear Tend had thought of everything to make my visit enjoyable, and when I told my hygienist how amazing the experience had been, she said they also do the same thing for their employees!
My dental hygienist, Shayna, started by introducing herself and talked me through everything my visit included before we began. I’ve always been nervous about the dentist, but she made me feel completely at ease for the very first time.
She asked if I had any questions, and I did bring up some concerns, which she immediately worked through with me. I laid down on the chair (which was unbelievably comfortable), and get this – there was a TV above my chair paired with Beats earphones!
I wasn’t even able to watch a second episode by the time she had finished. It was even more pleasant than usual! I mentioned that some instruments looked different from my last dentist’s, and she told me that Tend upgrades their dental tools and trains their hygienists on how to use them as soon as they can, so they’re trained in the best and latest tech.
When the dentist came in after my cleaning, he was extremely friendly towards me and Shayna. He supported what Shayna had already told me during the cleaning. It was refreshing to see them work together as a team which was noticeably different from what I am used to. I have had my fair share of uncomfortable encounters.
“You are clearly doing a great job cleaning your teeth,” they both told me. I was delighted – A gold star for me!
I have to be honest, I was shocked that throughout my appointment, they hadn’t pushed me to consider another procedure. I can’t remember the last time I went to the dentist for a cleaning and didn’t come out with a few unnecessary suggestions. I found out Tend dentists don’t make commissions on procedures, unlike most dentists, so there’s no upselling; only exactly what you need, when you need it.
I couldn’t stop rubbing my tongue against my teeth the whole way home and I was already excited for my next visit.
When I went back for another cleaning, I had a new Tend Hygienist who told me a few reasons why he was glad he joined the company. Not only does their TendU program provide ongoing training so they can continue developing their skills. He went on to say that in addition to generous benefits, the customer reviews were incredible. Tend is still relatively new and they already have hundreds of 5-star reviews surrounding the hygienists, service, and hospitality.
It was great to hear about how Tend goes above and beyond for their hygienists so that they can, in turn, do the same for their patients. The entire experience from checking in, to the cleaning, to the dentist checkup was flawless. You can really tell how strong the team dynamic is and how everyone seemed genuinely happy to work there.
With convenient locations across the country, the most advanced tech, and phenomenal service from renowned clinicians who make each visit special, Tend is the place for all of your dental needs.
To all the dental hygienists out there, I have one question, “Wouldn’t you want to work with a team like this?” If I was in the dental industry, Tend would be my dream company.
