Lips of Strangers, the New Jersey-based indie dream-pop outfit, are back with their second release of 2025: the announcement of their sophomore EP, Too Long For Lovers. Though newly formed, the band’s members are no strangers to the stage—having toured with acts like Hot Chip, French Horn Rebellion, Pink Flamingo Rhythm Review, and Ra Ra Riot.

The five-track EP showcases the talents of Spencer Miles (guitar, bass, keys, vocals), Kate Victor (keys, vocals), Zach Abramson (bass), Tim Alworth (drums), and Jim Orso (drums, percussion). A triple threat, Miles also produced the record and serves as the group’s frontman.

Too Long For Lovers marks their second EP release in 2025, following their self-titled debut earlier this year. Initially written to expand their live set, four new songs were tested and refined on stage before hitting the studio—allowing live performance energy to shape the recordings. A fifth track, the title song “Too Long For Lovers”, was added during the process and now serves as the EP’s lead single.

Lead single “Too Long For Lovers” is a dreamy, synth-driven, and emotionally charged pop moment—glowing with warm 1980s nostalgia while keeping one foot firmly planted in the present.

Lips of Strangers will celebrate the release with their NYC live debut at Footlight Underground at Windjammer in Ridgewood, Queens, on Thursday, August 21st at 8:30pm.

“Too Long For Lovers” is out August 27 via all DSPs.

Lips of Strangers Bio:

Fresh off of their 2025 radio feature on NYC’s 90.7 WFUV, and their packed debut live performance in Montclair, NJ, LIPS OF STRANGERS explodes into the world (well, mainly New Jersey) as they embark on exploring the indie-pop scene of the tri-state area.

Singer, songwriter, producer, and New Jersey native Spencer Miles helms the indie dream-pop act on vocals and guitar. Though Lips of Strangers is still relatively new, its members are no strangers to the indie-pop world – before the band was formed, they had each embarked on touring stints with many big acts such as Hot Chip, French Horn Rebellion, Pink Flamingo Rhythm Review, and Ra Ra Riot.

Kate Victor on keys and vocals, Jim Orso on drums, and Zach Abramson on bass round out the quartet, bringing to life a sound described by Apollo’s Harp as “shoegaze textures splattered across dream pop brilliance.” Additionally, Tim Alworth plays drums on their upcoming sophomore EP, and Kenny Bernard of Ra Ra Riot played drums on their debut self-titled EP, which was produced by Brian Squillace and Spencer Miles.

Lips of Strangers will be making their live NYC debut at Footlight Underground at Windjammer, in Ridgewood Queens, on Thursday, August 21st at 8:30pm. Their sophomore EP, Too Long For Lovers, is due out in November 2025, and was produced by Spencer Miles and mixed by Andrew Maury and Jordan Lawlor.
