Space Fluid – Perfumes That Drift Through Memory
Freud once described dreams as the royal road to the unconscious.
The bewitching parfumerie Space Fluid makes a compelling case for scent as the key to memory, feeling, and presence.
An independent studio engaged in creating unique fragrances, Space Fluid offers an alternative to run-of-the-mill perfumes. Each scent it creates is rooted in ancient perfumery traditions, made from rare botanicals, hand-crafted in an age of mass-production. Its fragrances embody the notion of fluidum: the invisible aura that shapes how we feel and how we’re perceived.
Scent is a language – one that speaks to your past, mood, inner world. Space Fluid blends psychology and esoteric energy and serves as a sensory bridge between body and spirit.
Space Fluid has no use for trends. Its creations aren’t made of fantasy. They are recollections, subtle echoes of sun-warmed hay…the chill of rain on stone…a single flower in a field at dusk. Emotional time capsules evoking the sensory panorama of life. Clay, wood, salt, skin, iron.
Its perfumes are distilled from precious substances such as wild jungle oud and archival sandalwood. Mass synthetics are shunned and left to those who view fragrance as something to hide behind and not something that reveals personality and soul.
Ingredients are sourced across France, Italy, the UK, and the U.S., then hand-blended in Prague after exacting laboratory evaluation in Germany. No artificial dyes. No animal musk. The base is pure food-grade alcohol, chosen for its clarity and softness. Only the highest quality naturals are used. Space Fluid fragrances age gracefully, maturing like fine cognac in the quiet of your drawer.
Space Fluid invites you to slip between dimensions — into memory, into the very atmosphere, into the invisible. These are not scents to wear, but to inhabit.
Whispering Fields captures that uncanny hush of golden hour over harvested land. Rice fields flashing by your train window on the Shinkansen. Sunlight caught in dust. Notes of Angelica, lavender, osmanthus, and jasmine fold into a soft and haunting echo of something both rural and radiant.
Narcis Nocturne is the scent of a SoHo loft circa 1993, evoking the zone between the heat of summer and autumn’s velvet cool. It’s mysteriously intoxicating – a narcotic bloom whispering things you forgot you remembered.
X-Ray is pure seduction without a surface — brûlée without the crust. It’s The Unseen: all pulse and aura, like catching your reflection in someone else’s dream.
Lovely Problem is heady contradiction incarnate — bright and strange, sweet and smoldering, the perfume equivalent of getting into trouble on purpose and loving every second.
For those ready to open the door wider, the Space Sample Set ($44) offers five vials: five portals into the unknown. If you want to know where they’ll take you, you’ll have to give them a try…
Space Fluid is the vision of Marketa Maf, a best-selling author, artist, perfumer, and seeker of the invisible. In Prague when she isn’t in New York, Maf designs the fragrances she’d always sought but couldn’t find.
So Marketa did it herself, merging the botanical and alchemical with the emotional. Each bottle — hand-painted by Marketa — contains a mood spell, a fragment of dream logic. Her fragrances push the boundaries of olfactory pleasure. They don’t answer questions…they ask them.
You can smell and test Space Fluid perfumes in the DSC Gallery in Prague. Space Fluid is occasionally offered at exhibitions, private parties, pop-up stores, or by appointment in addition to Space Fluid’s e-shop here.
