On This Day: Hip-Hop Forever Changed America

Happy birthday to the world's biggest genre

On this day in 1973, Clive Campbell, the Jamaican-American "selector" known as DJ Kool Herc, hosted a "back to school jam" at 1520 Sedgewick Avenue in the Boogie Down Bronx of New York City.

MUSIC MONDAY | Laid Back, Rainy City Groove

APRIL 16 | Editors Picks for April 20th

THE MIX | Let Clouds Bring Rain

by Dan Victor

04.16.18 | Got a need for some chill groove to ease you into the week? Yes! You know what the spring brings? A day, a time, that once a year, four-twenty (420). if you bake, you partake. The days ahead may yield many conversations about how they will spend this Friday. For some, April 20th has become a day to celebrate. This mix is not your typical Stoner playlist. You won't find the Grateful Dead or Pink Floyd. We need that new shit. All these are fresh tracks, recently released. I discover these and save them for this occasion. Is it the feeling that a change in temperature brings. Rain, Spring and Bud reminds some that our long hibernation is over. Time to switch to Coors Light.

Let's be honest, how many of you all will be watching all the Friday movies, this Friday? Hands raised! 🙌
