Madonna has explained the fall by saying that her cape's tie was too tight and at the last minute wouldn't come undone, thereby tripping her dancers and nearly strangling her.
Armani, who designed the cape, begged to differ, remarking:
The cape had a hook and she wanted a tie, and she wasn’t able to open it with her hands. That’s all there is to it. Madonna, as we all know, is very difficult.
Madge knows better than to fight with Armani. Her rep offered a pacifying reply, telling the New York Post: 'Shit happens. Madonna loves Giorgio Armani.'
Armani one, Madge zero.
All the hottest celebs in movies, television, and music gathered together to honor the latest and greatest actors and musicians picked by YOU! And, what’s an award show without a few show stopping trends, right?
Well, judging by last night’s red carpet, 2015 is gearing up to be the year of the jumpsuit. Onesies ruled the night—with Portia de Rossi killing it in a royal blue cutout jumpsuit by Zuhair Murad. Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo also hopped on the jumpsuit train with a super-chic beige lace number by Ellie Saab. Con Air actress Monica Potter rocked an elegant and simple black Diane von Furstenberg halter neck jumpsuit; while, Kaley Cuoco put an original twist on the trend with a flared leg, black and white cut out crop leg version.
It wouldn’t be a night in Hollywood though without a few sparkles. Rightfully so, sequined dresses have remained an award show staple. Hollywood IT girl and star of Modern Family, Sarah Hyland, looked adorable in a silver sequined strapless dress by Christian Siriano. The show’s host, Allison Janney, was one hot mama in a plunging silver sequined Rani Zakhem gown.
Kat Dennings sported a gorgeous black lace gown by Ludmila Corlateanu. Paired with strappy heels, the starlet looked super gothic chic.
Katherine McPhee kept it simple, yet sexy in a black and white cut out Balmain number. Keeping with the black theme, Bella Thorne looked ready for business in a slim-fitting Armani suit. Amy Adams was also keeping it short and sweet, looking stunning in a blue strapless Gucci shift.
Beg For It songstress Iggy Azalea combined two trends of the night in one. She wore a gorgeous black embroidered crop top and wide leg pants. She said it best herself—she’s so fancy.
Meanwhile, both Gabrielle Union and Viola Davis were pretty in pink—the Being Mary Jane star looked drop dead gorgeous in a raspberry colored Honor gown with a deep V-neck. The color popped against her skin and had every man at home wishing he was Dwayne Wade— while the How to get Away with Murder actress kept it classy in a classic soft pink Escada gown.
Last, but most certainly not least, Giuliana Rancic wore a T-length mint green dress by Tony Ward. The retro style looked perfect on the hostess with the mostess.
Award season is just getting started, folks!

You ever get that "too sexy to sleep" insomnia? Please—don't even bring it up to Rihanna. That's her damn near every night, just writhing in bed, wanting desperately to get some Z's, but just too preoccupied with immersing in your own hotness to get a wink of shuteye. At the end, all you can do is put the (rotary?) phone back on the receiver, remember that you actually have to catch a flight at 6:00 in the morning anyway (so clever, leaving yourself those bathroom-mirror shower-fog reminders), and (ever so slowly) slip on your Armani Jeans as you live to fight another day.
Nice of Rihanna to allow Armani this behind-the-scenes documentary look into an average night of her life on the road. Those Katy Perry Proactiv commercials are totally lacking in this kind of erotic daily minutiae.
