Kat Capone Spills the Tea in Music Video for "Choke"

The pop singer-songwriter holds nothing back and keeps it real in her latest music video.

Kat Capone

The New York native pop singer/songwriter Kat Capone continues to shows off her dynamic and candid personality in her latest music video for her song "Choke."

Drawing from her musical influences like Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, and Missy Elliot, Capone skillful combines honest and direct songwriting mixed with fun, impactful pop beats to create music that can be enjoyed by the masses.

The video begins with fast cut scenes of a decadent living room, panning over luxurious decor and glittering gold furniture. The camera then cuts to Capone, dressed stylishly in all black and wearing matching berets with two other women. The trio begins to sip their tea when Capone launches into the song's opening lyric, "I heard what you said/ And you seem a little obsessed/ We coulda been friends/ This song coulda been a duet" with her sensual and raspy voice.

According to Capone, "Choke" is a high energy rhythmic jam full of attitude and confidence inspired by gossipers who secretly follow everything you do. This theme and Capone deep cutting swagger is especially obvious in the track's infectious chorus. With lines like, "You ain't gotta like me I got enough friends/ You ain't gotta lie to me or pretend/ No time for the he said she said/ We could smell the hate on your breath," and "Been hearing that my name's in your mouth/ When you see me you don't even make a sound/ Guess the cat got your tongue tied now/ Don't choke on my name spit it out," the singer makes a stance that she isn't here to waste time and energy on people who are less than authentic.

The quirky track is produced by MultiPlatinum producer KQuick (Alessia Cara, J Cole, Queen Naija) and its infectious flute melody is supported by deep 808s and clocklike percussion. The chorus serves elementary school playground taunting vibes paired with a classic reggae sample from Major Cat.

The film won't hit theaters 'till March of next year, but fans of Captain Marvel are ready for the movie now.

The official trailer was just released, full of Brie Larson's leading lady skill and strength and plenty of action-packed excitement that we've come to expect from the franchise.

Seemingly set in the '90s, thanks to the placement of a now-nearly-extinct Blockbuster Video store, the movie's entire storyline is still a mystery, but that's what trailers are for. Teasing, tempting, and trusting that the snippets and smatterings of suggestion will draw audiences by the boatloads to "a theater near you" on opening night.

Along with Larson (CapMarv/Carol Danvers), the trailer gives us a glimpse at some other big names who'll share the screen. Jude Law and Samuel L. Jackson have roles in the film, which will be full of Danvers' flashbacks, murky memories, and perhaps a curious case of amnesia. As Vulture's Abraham Riesman comments, "The main takeaway from the trailer is that the plot will revolve around Carol's amnesia. She presents as human and has flashes of memories about life on Earth — many of which we see, including a Little League game and some experience in the Air Force — but doesn't know her own backstory with any kind of detail. One can assume that her quest to understand how she got from point A to point B will be a central factor in the film."

While amnesia is sure to be interesting, look out for aliens too. As The Ringer explains, "The biggest threats in the MCU tend to come from outer space (see: the swole, genocidal purple thumb that is Thanos) and that won't be any different in Captain Marvel." And prepare for plenty of action that will keep Marvel fans mesmerized. As Vox describes, "The film promises to unpack the secret of her past and how it relates to her future as one of Earth's mightiest heroes."

To sum up what the film will focus on, ScreenRant shares, " It's confirmed that the movie is no origin story, but will instead kick off with Carol Danvers already serving as a member of the Kree Starforce. She travels back to her homeworld of Earth in order to deal with a Skrull invasion, but apparently discovers dark secrets in her own past."

As Marvel's first female-led superhero film, Captain Marvel is destined to be groundbreaking and full of "girl power." March can't come soon enough!

Where Does "Black Panther" Rank In The Marvel Universe?

See how well Black Panther holds up to its peers

Marvel Studios' Black Panther - Official Trailer

Ranking every movie Marvel released isn't easy, but we did it!

There's good reasons why Marvel movie universe has become an ever-present box office sensation. The fans aren't just dedicated to the films because they get to see a good movie every couple of months, but because the overarching storyline that connects them all builds a realistic world where we feel compelled to know what's next. Every film has worked together like pieces of a puzzle building a bigger picture.

That being said, fans can be incredibly disappointed when the next film in succession doesn't live up to their standards. It's completely understandable. Fans that have come to see every movie, know the order of the timeline, and are waiting for every hint and secret moment weaved into these films to come to fruition in Avengers: Infinity war want every film to be great on their own no matter their role in the universe.

So I developed a fairly scientific method to rank every Marvel movie to find how the new Black Panther movie holds up. The science I used is simple but foolproof. Each film has two ratings on Rotten Tomatoes: one for the critics and one for the audience. By averaging those numbers I could more easily rank these films by their popularity. I don't like ties so I thought a nice tie breaker would be their box office numbers. So let's take a look at where the Black Panther ranks!

Here's a Little Guide:

Critics Score / Audience Score = Averaged Score. Box Office Revenue.
