Handy Is The Queen Of Organization

As one of the most popular ways to book a cleaning service nationwide, I thought I'd take a look at some reviews

The one thing I still have to figure out over and over again as an adult is that life can be pretty overwhelming. Sometimes you need to find help!

So when my two kids and my husband and I were all quarantined and working under one roof, all heck broke loose. The laundry pile and the dishes pile were in a race to the ceiling.

I really could've used a cleaning service, but obviously that wasn't happening at the time.1

Just when I was getting desperate, a friend told me she loved Handy for its ease of booking and the quality cleaners on the platform. I doubted a service could check every cleaner - turns out they take extensive measures to ensure both Pros and their customers are safe.

Handy background-checks every single Pro booked through their platform, so you have the peace of mind that they've vetted the Pros who come to your home. There's also the Handy Safety Standard, which includes a number of steps to help foster a safe environment for the customers and cleaning professionals who use Handy. As part of these measures, Handy has provided face coverings to all professionals to wear during bookings and require professionals to complete a daily in-app checkup confirming that they are not experiencing symptoms before they can claim jobs.

As one of the most popular ways to book a cleaning service nationwide, I thought I'd take a look at some reviews, and was surprised by what I read.

"The Queen of Organization"

"Seriously amazing help! My house is utter chaos so she was super patient and did what she could with what I gave her. She is the queen of organization! She's coming back next Wednesday and my husband is so thrilled as well and we plan on having her back often!" - Nicole R.

"I was so impressed"

"Catalina is the best cleaner. She is very professional, friendly...very thorough. The things on the handy list, she does. I was so impressed. Keep up the good work, you're the best!!!!🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓💕" - Kaytrine H.

"I would have [my cleaner] again in a heartbeat!"

"Priscilla was not only flexible, but she was personable and extremely helpful! My house was super clean when she left, and I was speechless. She was easy to work with and was a delight to talk to. I would have her again in a heartbeat!" - Janey C. L.

"Made my messy apartment sparkle"

"Brian O. somehow managed to make my very messy apartment sparkle. I highly recommend him!" - Jennifer

"Totally made my week"

"Jessica was wonderful! On time, thorough, kind and just generally amazing. Totally made my week...working with Jessica S. was fantastic and I highly recommend her if you're in the Dayton/Cincinnati area!" - Stacy H.

"A Miracle Worker"

"Paige is a miracle worker. She took my filthy house and turned it into a clean, tidy, beautiful home fit for a magazine cover. Paige has a true gift. She is also sweet as can be and a very, very hard worker. I highly recommend her." - Angela D.

"A wonderful surprise"

"Works surprisingly well! What a wonderful surprise to discover a gig service broker for house cleaning, etc. The website is very easy, the choices are clear, and the cleaner Handy sent, Patti, was on time and efficient. I like the app---I can cancel, postpone, etc." - Louise L.

"A hit!"

"Cleaning gift was a hit!! My son and daughter in law were very pleased with Marlon. He was so polite and worked so hard. He did an excellent job! I had booked the appointment as a gift and they were happy with and want to have another booking and they want Marlon to be their professional cleaner." - Shelly P.

I knew it could be hit or miss, but I decided to take a leap. You'll just have to stay tuned for my review! I'm signing up for a 6-month 1x a month service, but you can also do weekly or biweekly and 3-month or 12-month packages. You can also cut back or expand on your plan at any time, and sometimes you can even schedule a cleaning for as soon as the next day.

Handy can be a savior, so if you're on the fence, you need to give it a try.

Red ice pop splotches on the floor. Sand in every crevice. Dirty socks under every sofa. The hot sticky summer is finally coming to an end, and my house will be pristine again. Or, so I thought.

My daughter's entering middle school this year and she's intent on acting in the Fall musical, which means driving to pick her up way after the school day is done. My son plays soccer; no matter how many times I tell him this is a cleats-off house, he'll clomp around the living room, oblivious to the dried mud clods trailing behind him.

When school starts, I'll be just as busy, and my kids will be the same wonderful messes they always are. Gosh, dang it.

I'm signing up for a cleaning service. The chaos is just too much. I'd always viewed it as a luxury, but then I found Handy, an app that will match you with a vetted Cleaning Professional in your area for an affordable price!

Here's why you deserve a cleaning pro for your home.

1. You need "you" time.

Whoever said "you have as many hours in a day as Beyoncé" was dead wrong. Queen Bey has a chef, cleaners, and a private jet so she can get halfway 'round the world in the time it takes me to drive to the supermarket in rush hour traffic. Get more time in your day by outsourcing your least favorite tasks, so you can finally catch up on Shameless...season five.

2. Kids make more mess.

With kids, you clean twice as much. Twice as many dishes to wash, twice as much trash, twice as many gadgets to dust… Remember the days when you were single? Cleaning your lone plate and fork and then being done? With a cleaner, you can skip scrubbing the milk and chocolate milk spills in the fridge (again).

3. It's not a luxury.

Treatin' yo' self doesn't have to mean caviar and cashmere! Seriously, biweekly or monthly cleaning services won't break the bank when you compare it to your last receipt from Target (which always comes out higher than expected). Next time your sweet angels make a huge mess, you can book an appointment in minutes - sometimes even for next day clean-ups. If you consider the value of your time and erasing the chores sections of your to-do list, then adding Handy to your routine (and signing up for a six month or a year-long plan for a bigger discount) can definitely make it into your budget.

Running a wet paper towel over the microwave just doesn't cut it. Address those yucky soup stains for good with a Cleaning Pro. They're background-checked by Handy, and you can book your favorite top-rated Pro every time. Back-to-school doesn't have to mean that you're back to the same old overbooked routine, so get Handy to help out. You deserve it.

This Haunts Me: "Jen from Appleton" and the Epic Bath and Body Works Rant

Sometimes you've just got to get yourself that Winter Candy Apple and Iced Gingerbread.

I hope Jen from Appleton, Wisconsin is doing well these days.

As for Angela, the star of the best Bath & Body Works rant of all time (and there are surprisingly many on YouTube), I hope she's living a Winter Candy Apple-scented life to the fullest.

In 2012, the aspiring vlogger posted a rant about her dire mission to acquire two coveted candles from Bath & Body Works: Winter Candy Apple and Iced Gingerbread. The outstanding 11-minute video recounts her harrowing journey to the store in APPLETON, WISCONSIN (it's very important the store is called out for their heinous treatment of Angela).

After the video was discovered and spread across Tumblr, it was recognized as a cultural masterpiece of our time, a treatise on the frailty of the human condition and our undying perseverance to end our own suffering at any cost.

Lady Gaga x Oreo and Other Odd Celebrity Food Collaborations

It's an unprecedented time for brand deals and nonsensical collaborations

I'm convinced that the Supreme Oreos that terrorized the internet (and which I haven't stopped thinking about since) were the cultural reset.

Released in February 2020, right as everything started to go wrong, these bright red Supreme Oreos were met with equally visceral confusion and anticipation. Despite many on the internet claiming that Supreme and Oreo had gone too far, the 3-pack of Oreos inevitably sold out in minutes online.

But the chaos didn't end here. Bidding sites were on fire, with one auction reaching almost $92,000 before being taken down. And apparently, they just tasted like regular Oreos.

It seems Oreo have not learned their lesson. Just announced: their collaboration with Lady Gaga

Everything You Need for "Euphoria" -Inspired Makeup Looks

Life is short, go for a bold eye like Jules.

Regardless of how you felt about the hit HBO teen drama Euphoria, you have to admit the looks in the show are pretty iconic.

Not to mention the makeup looks, which are so unique and striking as to have inspired hundreds of Halloween costumes last year. But why reserve a neon eye shadow or sequin eyelid look for Halloween when you can channel your inner Maddie or Jules all year long?

Euphoria Season 2 may be a few months away, but HBO is releasing two special episodes much sooner. The first of these specials, "Trouble Don't Last Always," focuses on Rue (played by Zendaya) and just dropped on HBO Max.
