Meek Mill Racially Profiled at Las Vegas Hotel

His lawyer confirmed Meek's plans to sue the hotel

Meek Mill cannot catch a break.

After being denied a retrial last June in his ongoing probation case, as well as being forced to miss out on a $450,000 payday this month due to travel restrictions set by the now-notorious Judge Genece Brinkley, Meek Mill has once again been subjected to racial profiling. Over the weekend, the Philly-rapper was told by staff at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas that he was trespassing, and was threatened with arrest. The rapper was about to head into the Marquee Dayclub on Saturday to support a party hosted by his friend DJ Mustard. But before he even got out of his SUV, hotel staff approached him and said that they were refusing to do business with the rapper. They specified that if he set foot out of his SUV, he'd be arrested for trespassing.

Video of the incident has since circulated the web. Meek's lawyer, Joe Tacopina, announced today that Meek plans to sue the hotel for monetary damages, and he accused the hotel of having a list of black rappers who aren't allowed in the hotel. The list allegedly includes rappers Yo Gotti and BlocBoy JB, among others. Hotel security also told Meek that he was being denied entry because of a fight he started last time he was at the hotel. In the video of the altercation, Meek can be seen demanding security to tell him more about the alleged incident, but security refuses. Meek claims that the only other time he had been at the Cosmo was for Jay-Z's birthday a few years ago and that nothing out of the ordinary happened that night.

"I need lawyers ASAP y'all not gone treat me like I'm just a rapper and expect me to be quiet," Meek tweeted after the argument. "And I don't care about that casino… but y'all not gone just treat us like shit and act like it's normal. Put some respect on our race please and thank you."

Meek's latest legal woe doesn't come as a surprise, as the man has fully embraced his new role as a civil rights leader. In February, he joined forces with Jay-Z to create the REFORM Alliance, a new initiative set on reforming criminal justice procedures in this country. The alliance is off to a massive start with over $50 million dollars in funding already.
