Batman Oral Uproar: Zack Snyder Confirms, Heroes Do Go Down

Zack Snyder has declared Batman's oral "canon."

This week a conversation with Harley Quinn series co-creators Patrick Schumacker and Justin Halpern was published in Variety and sparked a firestorm on social media.

Specifically, a detail that Justin Halpern shared about a disagreement between the series creators and DC Comics caught fans' attention. While Halpern was noting the freedom the animated HBO Max show allows — thanks to its focus on villains, rather than the hero characters, who are generally treated more preciously — he offered a telling counterexample to illustrate the point.

With sitcom success in both longevity and lucrativeness, the beachy blonde beauty is one of today's top entertainers. She has won us over with her ease on screen and her gift of giving it her all. Award-winning with way more up her sleeve, Cuoco is one to watch and admire. Here's more about the actress/producer that makes her a fan favorite.

TV Gold

TV watchers tune in to The Big Bang Theory by the millions. The show has been on the air for an impressive 12 seasons, but the final season has finally arrived and the show will conclude in May 2019. 52 Emmy nods and 10 wins is nothing to sneeze at, giving some validity to the cast's massive paychecks. But like all good things, The Big Bang Theory must come to an end. At least it'll go out with a bang…

Welcome to DC

Comedy is Cuoco's forte but she's always up for a challenge. Comic book lovers will get a taste of Cuoco's talent when she steps into the "femme fatale" role of DC Comics' Harley Quinn. Premiering in 2019, Cuoco will have plenty of time to devote to the character as her part as "Penny" will be a thing of the past. She'll be voicing the Harley Quinn character, and as an executive producer for the show, Cuoco will lend her professionalism in more ways than one.

Cuoco Couture

Looking good is part of the program in Hollywood and Cuoco certainly got the memo. Whether she's playing it casual or looking chic on the red carpet, Cuoco's fashion is always fabulous. Here are some of her better moments…

From Comedy to Comic Books…

Actress Kaley Cuoco to be DC Comics' new Harley Quinn

Welcome to the DC Universe, Kaley Cuoco!

Fans can't get enough of the bubbly blonde on television's hit comedy The Big Bang Theory, and now their fix of Kaley Cuoco won't get cut off when CBS pulls the plug on the long-running show after this final season comes to a close. News is out that the beloved actress will take on the role of DC Comics' Harley Quinn, announced in conjunction with the kick off of Comic Con in NYC.

As per Too Fab, "Cuoco made the announcement on Wednesday night during New York Comic Con, complete with a promotional video featuring her debut as the character in the animated series slated for the DC Universe streaming service." The show will premiere in 2019.

Keep in mind, this will be an animated show, so Cuoco will be voicing the character of the villainess, as USA Today notes. And this character will be a far cry from her Big Bang role as Penny. "This has been the edgiest, darkest thing I think I've ever done in my career. I have cussed and screamed more than I think I ever have, and it has been a fricking blast. It's very freeing," Cuoco tells USA Today. After 12 seasons playing Penny, the "end of an era" may be bittersweet, but doing a complete 180 and tackling Harley Quinn will surely be a refreshing change of pace for the A-list actress.

More to love about Cuoco? Not only will she voice this DC Universe "femme fatale," but she is an executive producer for the show too. No wonder CBS paid the star the big bucks! She's a true talent, ready to explore new TV territory, and make a name for herself in many facets of the biz. Whether it's comedy or comics, Cuoco will shine, both in front of and behind the camera.

Along with Cuoco, some other recognizable names are on board as cast members of the upcoming Harley Quinn. According to E! News, "The cast also includes Children's Hospital veteran Lake Bell, Firefly's Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches of Powerless, Curb Your Enthusiasm star JB Smoove, Jason Alexander of Seinfeld fame, black-ish's Wanda Sykes, Giancarlo Esposito from Breaking Bad, Bojack Horseman veteran Natalie Morales, Community's Jim Rash, Diedrich Bader from American Housewife, Veep's Tony Hale, and Chris Meloni from Happy! and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." Star-studded and sure-to-be spectacular, 2019 can't come soon enough.

Here's a sneak peak of what to expect from Cuoco and the rest of the cast:

Going Out with a Bang

The Big Bang Theory to End in '19

After 12 seasons as one of CBS's biggest hits, The Big Bang Theory is going to say goodbye.

The show will have aired 279 episodes, and as per Esquire, "will hold the title as the longest running multi-camera sitcom in history." According to Us Weekly, "Warner Bros. Television, CBS and Chuck Lorre Productions announced the cancellation earlier on Wednesday."

With an impressive 52 Emmy nominations and a total of 10 wins, The Big Bang Theory has been a fan favorite – TV's #1 comedy for years (until Roseanne rebooted, but we all know how that turned out). The show is still hot, so why cancel? Perhaps going out on a high note is better than staying past its welcome.

As What Culture reports, "The production team have thanked the fans and promised 'an epic creative close'." This will only mean that fans will be glued to their television sets to see how Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Amy, Howard, Bernadette, and Raj tie up loose ends and say goodbye to what was some of viewers' longest relationships.

Kaley Cuoco, one of the show's hottest stars shared her sentiments on Instagram, "This ride has been a dream come true and as life changing as it gets. No matter when it was going to end, my heart would have always been broken in two. Drowning in tears, we promise to bring you the best season yet."

And speaking of life changing, the stars of the show made a huge chunk of change as the seasons progressed. Cuoco, for instance, rakes in $1 million per episode. A Big Bang (for her buck), indeed…

Just like the rest of us, the stars of the show are curious as to how The Big Bang Theory will say goodbye. Cast member Johnny Galecki stated, "I hope they write something emotional, because I know we're all gonna be crying anyway. So you might as well make it appropriate! Capture that on camera, write that to be conducive to the fact that we're all gonna be blubbering messes that night." But the show is a comedy, after all, so hopefully the tears will be tamed by lots of laughter.

If you want to stay tuned or see for the first time what all the Big fuss is about, the final season of The Big Bang Theory premieres on CBS Monday, September 24, 8 PM ET. It will conclude in May, as Huffington Post reports.

Actor Kunal Nayyar sees the series end as bitter sweet. He shared with his social media fans, "There are no words in any language that can describe what my heart wants to say. The love that I feel for all of you is boundless. Without you the fans there would be no us. Tonight I sleep with a prayer of gratitude on my lips. This isn't goodbye… yet… still 23 eps to shoot!" And we'll be watching!

Award show season is back and better than ever! The stars in Hollywood hit the red carpet Wednesday night for the 2015 People’s Choice Awards.

All the hottest celebs in movies, television, and music gathered together to honor the latest and greatest actors and musicians picked by YOU! And, what’s an award show without a few show stopping trends, right?

Well, judging by last night’s red carpet, 2015 is gearing up to be the year of the jumpsuit. Onesies ruled the night—with Portia de Rossi killing it in a royal blue cutout jumpsuit by Zuhair Murad. Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo also hopped on the jumpsuit train with a super-chic beige lace number by Ellie Saab. Con Air actress Monica Potter rocked an elegant and simple black Diane von Furstenberg halter neck jumpsuit; while, Kaley Cuoco put an original twist on the trend with a flared leg, black and white cut out crop leg version.

It wouldn’t be a night in Hollywood though without a few sparkles. Rightfully so, sequined dresses have remained an award show staple. Hollywood IT girl and star of Modern Family, Sarah Hyland, looked adorable in a silver sequined strapless dress by Christian Siriano. The show’s host, Allison Janney, was one hot mama in a plunging silver sequined Rani Zakhem gown.

Kat Dennings sported a gorgeous black lace gown by Ludmila Corlateanu. Paired with strappy heels, the starlet looked super gothic chic.

Katherine McPhee kept it simple, yet sexy in a black and white cut out Balmain number. Keeping with the black theme, Bella Thorne looked ready for business in a slim-fitting Armani suit. Amy Adams was also keeping it short and sweet, looking stunning in a blue strapless Gucci shift.

Beg For It songstress Iggy Azalea combined two trends of the night in one. She wore a gorgeous black embroidered crop top and wide leg pants. She said it best herself—she’s so fancy.

Meanwhile, both Gabrielle Union and Viola Davis were pretty in pink—the Being Mary Jane star looked drop dead gorgeous in a raspberry colored Honor gown with a deep V-neck. The color popped against her skin and had every man at home wishing he was Dwayne Wade— while the How to get Away with Murder actress kept it classy in a classic soft pink Escada gown.

Last, but most certainly not least, Giuliana Rancic wore a T-length mint green dress by Tony Ward. The retro style looked perfect on the hostess with the mostess.

Award season is just getting started, folks!
