The Best Socks To Keep Your Feet Dry

The Best Socks To Keep Your Feet Dry

As a frequent business traveler and Italian men’s shoe designer, my biggest pet peeve is sweaty socks. It doesn’t matter how comfortable your shoes are, there’s nothing worse than a 10 hour flight or a long board meeting with swampy feet. What makes it worse is if you take your shoes off to cool down, there’s a good chance your neighbors won’t appreciate the smell. My solution? Mack Weldon’s socks made with silver for anti-odor and moisture control.

I’ve tried just about every sock brand out there and they all claim to keep your feet cool and dry, so I had a healthy level of skepticism these would actually do the trick. My colleague swears by them, so I picked up a pair before my most recent trip from New York City to Hawaii. I have to say, I’m completely sold. I don’t know if it was the mesh or the technical fabrics themselves, but whatever they did with the design worked incredibly well. The bottom of the socks are cushioned which helped my arches from aching as they usually do after a long flight, and my feet stayed surprisingly sweat-free. The best part, my feet still felt cool walking off the plane into the tropical air, so I kept my dress shoes on for a change instead of doing the usual airport bathroom swap to sandals.

Back in New York, the silver dress socks are my new go-to year round and I stocked up on the no slip no-show socks as well to wear with my summer loafers and sneakers. The no-shows have a grip on the back that helps them stay put, so I don’t need to constantly pull them back up, with slight cushioning on the bottom for premium comfort. Mack Weldon’s socks made a huge difference for me– from feeling like swamp thing to being cool as ice. Keeping my feet cool helps regulate the rest of the my body temperature as well, so I’m much more comfortable from head to toe. If you’re on your feet a lot, or like to travel, I highly recommend picking up a pair.

I like the brand, so I picked up a few of their basics as well from undershirts to underwear that have the same comfort and breathability. Their silver boxer briefs are made with the same material as my socks, and I can honestly say they’re the most comfortable thing I own. The fit is perfect, they’re extremely soft and breathable, and they have the right amount of stretch so they don’t cut off circulation.

The value I built into my own shoe line focuses on quality and comfort, so I’ve been incredibly impressed with the caliber of basics from Mack Weldon. Everything I’ve bought from them so far have been top quality. If you need to refresh your sock drawer or pick up some new basics, head to Mack Weldon
