The Popdust Podcast with Demi Ramos: From Ashes to New

On this episode of The Popdust Podcast with Demi Ramos, we sit down with another one of your favorite rock bands, From Ashes to New. Emerging from Pennsylvania in 2013, the band has steadily built a reputation for blending heavy rock with hip-hop influences and defining modern age Nu Metal.

The band’s upcoming fifth studio album, Reflections, is scheduled for release on April 17, and unlike their previous projects, Reflections was born out of a complete reset. After initially recording a full set of demo tracks, the band made the difficult decision to scrap most of the material and start over. Fans can expect a 12-track album that pushes their sound further into metal while maintaining the core elements that fans love.

This willingness to take risks highlights a central theme of the band’s evolution and with this new album, they are not just revisiting who they are, they are redefining it. In doing so, they reaffirm their place as one of the most compelling voices in modern rock.

As Reflections approaches its release, From Ashes to New are also preparing for a 2026 tour, including international dates and major supporting slots with Shinedown and Black Veil Brides. The band will be kicking things off overseas in April, hitting cities like Milan, Berlin, and London before heading to the U.S. for a spring and summer run.

In this interview, frontman Matt Brandyberry opens up about the stories behind their latest music, the challenges they’ve faced along the way, and how they continue to push boundaries while staying true to their roots. From insights into their creative process to life on the road and what’s next for the band, you’ll get to know the man behind some of your favorite songs, and so much more.
