On March 27, Ty Myers released is second studio album Heavy on the Soul. The sound takes the country roots Myers is known for and adds soul, southern rock, and Americana. At 17 tracks, it’s a massive artistic statement.
The album was recorded at the legendary FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Ala. Other albums produced there include Etta James’ Tell Mama, Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin, and multiple Wilson Pickett classics.
Myers, a native of Austin, Texas, has become one of country music biggest rising stars. Though just 19, his lyrics and voice carry the weight of a veteran Nashville musician. His 2025 debut album The Select included the singles “Drinkin’ Alone” and “Thought It Was Love,” his biggest hit so far.
