Meet the 23-Year-Old Founder Who Used His Battle with ADHD To Launch a New Focus Mint
LSC100 is a next-gen focus mint that puts 10 coffees’ worth of energy in your pocket for about $5
For Chris Magee, getting through college wasn’t just about keeping up with classes. The 23-year-old University of Colorado Boulder graduate was launching businesses, creating content, and speaking on stages like TEDx while battling severe ADHD and trying to find a way to keep his focus from falling behind his ambitions.
His daily routine consisted of as many as five energy drinks and a steady supply of nicotine pouches. “My ADHD meds, energy drinks and nicotine pouches became my breakfast every day just to keep up,” Magee says. “My sleep. My appetite. My personality. All of it, gone.”
Instead of accepting that routine as the price of staying productive, Magee saw an opportunity to try something different. That idea eventually became LSC100, a next-generation focus mint that generated $10,000 in sales on its first day and sold out its first manufacturing run.

Each LSC100 mint pairs 100mg of caffeine from green coffee beans with 100mg of L-theanine, an amino acid found in tea. Available in Cold Brew and Fresh Mint, the nicotine-free mints dissolve on the tongue in under five minutes, without needing water or a coffee run. The concept is simple: a portable, more affordable caffeine option for students, creators, and anyone trying to make it through a packed day.
The road to launching the brand was almost as unconventional as the product itself. At Palm Tree Festival in Aspen, Magee ran into a former boss who offered him samples of a caffeine product he was developing. Magee was supposed to provide feedback. Instead, he spent three weeks building an entire business plan, then used a call intended to discuss the samples to pitch his vision for the company.
That leap of initiative helped turn a chance encounter into a startup of his own.
LSC100 arrives as young consumers look for alternatives to traditional energy drinks and nicotine pouches. For Magee, the mission is personal: he knows what it’s like to feel like your brain isn’t cooperating with the demands of your day, even when your ambitions are bigger than ever.
Magee’s story speaks to a broader conversation about focus, productivity, and the lengths young people go to keep up. With LSC100, he’s turning a struggle he knows firsthand into a business built around a different approach to everyday energy, and proving that sometimes, the next big idea starts with trying to solve a problem in your own life.
