The Popdust Podcast with Demi Ramos: Whitney Whitney

Whitney Whitney, the stage name of singer songwriter Whitney Woerz, is emerging as a distinctive voice in contemporary pop. From an early age, Whitney developed a deep connection to music and storytelling. Her background in musical theater helped shape both her vocal style and commanding stage presence, while influences ranging from Elton John and Fiona Apple to Regina Spektor have informed her eclectic sound. Rather than fitting neatly into a single genre, she draws from these influences to create music that feels vulnerable, playful, and cinematic.

Her career took an unexpected turn when she experienced a prolonged vocal injury. After signing with Atlantic Records, Whitney went through an extended period of losing her voice, forcing her to step away from an intensive schedule of singing and recording. On this episode of The Popdust Podcast with Demi Ramos, Whitney opens up about the physical and emotional challenges of that recovery. Hearing her reflect on that experience and the resilience it took to find her way back was truly inspiring.

Whitney’s growing body of work is also organized around a series of EPs. Following 1.1 and 1.2, she announced 1.3, the third installment in the series, scheduled for release through Atlantic Records on October 23, 2026. Together, the projects reflect an evolving artistic world. For Whitney Whitney, making music is a way of documenting change, and discovering who she is becoming. We’re excited to follow along as the next chapters unfold.
