Kim Kardashian is no stranger to criticism, as fans always find one reason or another to drag her down. These days, folks are pissed off about a controversial parenting decision she made. In a recent Instagram post, Kim revealed that her six-year-old son, Psalm, is a huge fan of an R-rated movie. 

Apparently, he enjoys watching Deadpool & Wolverine! Kim likely thought her Instagram caption about Psalm’s favorite movie was playful and sweet, but many people in her comment section are outraged.

Psalm West Loves Deadpool & Wolverine

Kim shared an Instagram Reel to celebrate Psalm’s birthday, adding a caption that said, “Happy 6th Birthday to the biggest Deadpool Wolverine fan in the world. I love you so much, my baby boy! You bring so much joy to every room when you dance your heart out to Bye Bye Bye!”

The heartfelt Reel features clips of Psalm showing off his dance moves, with Deadpool & Wolverine playing behind him. Here’s what you should know about Deadpool & Wolverine… It was a huge hit when it landed in theaters in July 2024. 

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are the lead actors, and they certainly brought their star power. It raked in a 7.5 out of 10 score on IMDb and a 78% score on Rotten Tomatoes, proving that most viewers enjoyed it. 

But should an R-rated movie’s viewers ever be below 17? In American theaters, guests must be at least 17 years old to watch R-rated films, which applies to Deadpool & Wolverine. It doesn’t appear Kim abides by those rules in her household. Her comment section is riddled with disappointed fans who’ve been airing their grievances: 

• “I know we all allow our kids to watch inappropriate stuff to a certain extent, but DEADPOOL?! AT 6?! 😂”
• “That movie is an R-rated film. Just saying.”
• “Ummm…. Did he see the Rated PG version or something?”
• “I wouldn’t let kids watch a movie with so much violence, just saying.”
• “How are y’all’s kids watching Deadpool? I’m 29 and I can’t even stomach those graphic scenes.”

Despite the backlash Kim’s receiving, she hasn’t removed the Reel. In fact, she seems pretty unbothered by what people are saying on the matter. 

Another Kim Kardashian “Parenting Fail”

Regarding her parenting style, Kim often gets heavily critiqued by the masses. Another instance of a “parenting fail” from Kim went down in June 2024. During an episode of The Kardashians on Hulu, she revealed that she barricaded herself inside a bathroom to create distance from her children. She described her household as “chaotic’ and compared it to her “biggest nightmare.”

In the eye-opening episode, she said, “I had a Zoom interview at the house with all my kids there banging on the door, just screaming. And I was literally hiding in a bathroom with the door locked. ’Cause I was just like, ‘I can’t believe this.’”

Later, Kim confessed that it’s generally difficult for her to be a strict parent to her little ones. She prefers having friendly relationships with them and seemingly doesn’t want to ruin things by imposing the law too aggressively. 

The SKIMS founder noted that she’s proud of her younger sister, Khloé Kardashian, for having a top-notch parenting style in comparison. However, Kim admitted she doesn’t think she’ll ever get on Khloé’s level with that. 

Since Kim is always in the spotlight, we’re sure more parenting blunders will surface as she raises her four children — all currently under the age of 12. Psalm’s siblings include North, Chicago, and Saint.
