L.A. indie songwriter Kristen Ford continues her electric trajectory towards the release of her Pinto album with a brand new banger, “Birds Of Steel”. 

The hooktastic irrepressible track is the fifth and final appetizer to be released before Pinto. While previous singles have found space for rightfully rage-filled anthems calling out queer rights rollbacks and the broken American Dream, “Birds Of Steel” is Ford taking a breather to acknowledge that amongst difficult times, the world still has its moments of fascination. In her words, “for all the troubles of the world, we do live in a pretty magical place where all we need to do is look up to see people flying around in birds of steel.”

Two generations of fierce female artistry collide on “Birds Of Steel” as Ford’s rising star meets the legendary orbit of songwriter Ani DiFranco who co-wrote and co-produced this track while also directing and editing the video. This time-traveling visual finds Ford trapped in a mysterious mid-century fever dream as she navigates emotions from wonder to frustration.

The heavyweight collab train doesn’t stop there either. Zac Brown Band’s John Driskell Hopkins handled production duties for Pinto, while mastering legend Randy Merrill (who has polished tracks for Lady Gaga, Chappell Roan, and T-Swift) added his signature sparkle.
