The singer-songwriter is still clearing the air about her ex-bandmate, who she accused of assault in 2017.

In October 2014, a piece of news broke that would deeply disappoint punks, goths, and Tumblr music geeks alike: Alice Glass was stepping down from her role as the vocalist and co-songwriter of the beloved duo Crystal Castles.
The departure was sudden. Glass, whose thick eyeliner and heavy-lidded stare became synonymous with 2010s alternative style, didn't offer much of a reason for her leaving. She made it clear that Crystal Castles was done, and she intended to pursue a solo project. If only it had been so simple.
Hey. How are you?
Direct quote from her Facebook:
My art and my self-expression in any form has always been an attempt towards sincerity, honesty, and empathy for others. For a multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within Crystal Castles. Although this is the end of the band, I hope my fans will embrace me as a solo artist in the same way they have embraced Crystal Castles
Unless your name is Beyonce going solo always means “I'm going to make a bunch of weird stuff, alienate my original fan base and fade into obscurity” so basically this is the end. Grab your tissues.
But there's no need to make any quick decisions. Step away from the ledge and put the knife down. Let's talk about this. Life goes on. There will be more weird ass electronic acts that you can see at Coachella, I promise you. It's not worth it.
It was a fun ride, wasn't it? Remember that time you went and saw them in 2010 and blew your ear drum out and couldn't hear for a week? That was rad, wasn't it? Remember when Alice crowd surfed on your face and broke your glasses? You had to donate sperm to buy new glasses but man it was so worth it.
However, instead of moping about today, lets remember the good times. Don't forget that Alice taught you that “hey its okay to poorly apply eyeliner you can still pull it off.” That is important.
Alice taught you that it's okay to break stuff to music that sounds like Windows 95 having a seizure. Take these teachings, and pass them on to the next generation. If we do that, then the Castles will live on forever.
Crystal Castles was unique. Their music was like a punk band playing with Gameboys on PCP. It was amazing, and it melted a lot of faces during their reign. Many posers have taken shots at the throne (*cough* Sleigh Bells) but there is only one Crystal Castles. We thank you for your service and loss of hearing and hope to hear from you all in the future.
RIP in peace.
