Lady Gaga

Few artists have given as much of themselves to their fans as Lady Gaga.

Since being ordained queen of the nightclub (not to mention the pregame, the getting-ready-bedroom-dance, the drag show, and the summer night drive) in 2008 with "Just Dance," the hit single from her hit debut album The Fame, Gaga has continued to surprise fans with constant reinvention. She cemented her place as the pop-artist of a generation with Born This Way and even (as over-produced as it was) Art Pop, and then, shockingly, went on to release a jazz standard's album with Tony Bennett (Cheek to Cheek), a country album (Joanne), and finally become an Oscar-nominated actress for A Star Is Born. Somehow, she pulled off every iteration of herself with charisma and grace.

Reliant Tom

Brooklyn-based experimental art-pop duo Reliant Tom shares "11-2," a track from their forthcoming album Play & Rewind, dropping May 8 via Diversion Records.

Vocalist Claire Cuny explains, "The song is about learning to return to a semi-normal routine by learning to manage the grief." Inspired by the passing of her father, Claire's haunting tones invest the lyrics with stark melancholy, as keyboards mingle with burbling synths on a stop-and-stutter rhythm. "You know I was thinking it was only a dream / Cause when I'd open my mouth to scream / Nothing came out."

Brooklyn's Kodacrome premieres "Tender Exit," a track from their forthcoming album, Banff Sessions.

Billed as an electronic band, Kodacrome is made up of Elissa LeCoque (vocals) and Ryan Casey (synths). According to Elissa, "I wrote 'Tender Exit' in response to Tom DeGeeter's graphic novel CGI Buffalo which is about a disenchanted radio show host riddled with insomnia and ennui." Darkly textured and minimalist, the song travels on subtle, softly graceful colors suffused with melancholy.

The world painted by Melanie Martinez's music should be enough to make mental health counseling as natural as regular check-ups, support groups as normal as after-school sports, and consent a standard part of sex education.

Meet gv.grace, a synth-pop band based in Los Angeles.

A duo, gv.grace, is made up of Genevieve Dymond and Griff Dymond. Before relocating to Los Angeles, Genevieve and Griff were part of two bands in Denver - Paper Bird, an indie-folk orchestra, and Inner Oceans, an art-rock project. Inner Oceans will be releasing new music soon. Earlier this year, gv.grace dropped their tantalizing Heaven Mouth EP.

Their new music video, "F**K Golf," directed by Elise Mesner, along with Michael Atallah, is scrumptiously spicy, sardonic, and tongue in cheek. It's one of the most creative and innovative videos in a long, long time.
