Beyonce offers aid to victims of Hurricane Harvey in her hometown of Houston... Here's how you can help

The Houston native pledges support to help victims of Hurricane Harvey, as well as Kim Kardashian, Dwayne Johnson

Beyonce is showing support to her hometown of Houston in the wake of Hurricane Harvey disaster, and the star is not alone.

The floods, winds and torrential rain that has taken over Houston has left the city in a crisis mode. Many of us are desperate to find ways to help and send aid, as Trump's recent visit to Texas that failed to mention ways to help the victims at all shook us even further. Beyonce, not one to forget where she's from, has publicly pledged support to Houston through her own charity initiative, BeyGOOD.

""My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help. I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St. John's in downtown Houston) to implement a plan to help as many as we can."

Other stars, like Kim Kardashian, have begun to encourage others to get involved as well. "Houston we are praying for you! My mom, sisters & I will be donating $500,000 to redcross and salvationarmyus today #HoustonStrong," Kardashian tweeted. "#HurricaneHarvey has left catastrophic effects. Join me in donating to salvationarmyUS at http://HELPSALVATIONARMY.org or text STORM to 51555."

On Sunday, Kevin Hart posted an instagram video that kicked off what he calls "Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge" and he tagged many other celebrities, like Beyonce and Dwayne Johnson, to match his $25,000 donation towards aid. "This is a serious matter," Hart said in the video. "I think the people are in bad shape and they need help. I'm going to lead the charge and step it up in this way." Johnson was quick to match the donation and posted an Instagram showing support as well. "Stay strong Houston and hold onto faith. Me and my family know what you're going thru. We survived the eye of Andrew and became stronger - so will you."

In a message published on Instagram this past Monday, Drake announced that he's partnering with Future and "local relief groups to aid and assist the people of Texas in anyway we can and in the most immediate way possible."

"We are currently overseas in London and all I can think about is how devastated I am as I look at images of the damage Hurricane Harvey has caused," the post reads. "I am praying for the safety of all those affected. Houston has truly been a home to me over the last 8 years."

With more widespread damage still expected in the southeast well into the week, we need to help each other now more than ever. CBS News has compiled a list of organization and relief funds that you can donate to - any amount helps! The New York Times has also listed organizations and even listed tips on avoiding scams.
