Jared Kushner Could Win a Nobel Prize, but BLM Deserves It

The Nobel Prize committee has the chance to signal a better future for a prize with a fraught past.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice — Dr. Marin Luther King Jr. "Letter From Birmingham Jail" 1963

Nominations have been announced for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize.

Among notable nominees are Ivanka Trump's husband Jared Kushner, politician and voting rights activist Stacey Abrams, and the Black Lives Matter movement. Depending on your political biases, you likely find at least one of those nominations offensive, though it should be noted that the list of nominees is long, and anyone can be nominated.

Zelda Williams attends the Bring Change to Mind gala at City Winery, in New York

Charles Sykes/Invision/AP/Shutterstock

This weekend, Eric Trump gleefully shared a video of the late Robin Williams making fun of presidential candidate Joe Biden that bore the caption, "Robin Williams Savages Joe Biden."

Zelda Williams tweeted in response, "While we're 'reminiscing' (to further your political agenda), you should look up what he said about your Dad. I did. Promise you, it's much more 'savage.' Gentle reminder that the dead can't vote, but the living can."

Robin Williams, who would have turned 69 last month, had certainly poked fun at Joe Biden. In the clip shared by the younger Trump, Williams quips, "We still have great comedy out there, there's always rambling Joe Biden, what the f***... Joe says s*** that even people with Tourette's go, 'No. What is going on?'" He continued, "Joe is like your uncle who is on a new drug and hasn't got the dosage right...I'm proud to work with Barack America — 'He's not a superhero, you idiot — come here!'"

His comments about the current president were far more incisive and far-reaching. For example, in 2012, he referred to Trump as "a scary man" and "the Wizard of Oz" because "he plays monopoly with real f***ing buildings."

Of course, these jokes are based in very real calamities. Many of Trump's real estate projects and business ventures have notoriously fallen through or crash-landed completely, landing him in massive debt. Yet time and time again he was bailed out by his father, Fred Trump, who paid millions to keep his son's delusions of glory alive. He was also bailed out by a variety of banks (and still owes Deutsche Bank an outstanding $350 million). In some ways, it's no surprise that Trump will leave America sick, in debt, and in crisis.

Twitter Is Photoshopping Ivanka Trump into Famous Scenes and It's Great #UnwantedIvanka

Being someone's daughter is not a good enough qualification for public office, or anything else for that matter.

Twitter/ @moriiyanis

On June 29th, the French Presidential Palace released a video showing Ivanka Trump trying to insert herself into a conversation with world leaders at the G20 summit.

It's absolutely brutal.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May, French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Chairwoman of the French International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde attempt to talk about serious world business. Donald Trump's nepotism-appointed-diplomat-daughter smiles and eagerly tries to contribute, but her complete lack of qualifications don't impress the world leaders, who ignore her completely save for a few timely side-eye glances.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who actually earned her position as a U.S. Representative, responded with an incredible burn: "It may be shocking to some, but being someone's daughter actually isn't a career qualification." Which, ya know, is right. Clearly world leaders don't care what Trump's umpteenth generation rich daughter who has never worked an honest day in her life has to say about anything.

As is often the case online, Twitter latched on to Ivanka's pathetic attempt at inserting herself where nobody wanted her, to imagine "What if Ivanka inserted herself in other famous moments in history, too?" Is there anything Ivanka wouldn't falsely believe she was qualified for? Let's find out.

Here's Ivanka on the moon. She's not wearing a spacesuit, so she's probably going to asphyxiate within a few seconds.

Here's Ivanka chilling with Anubis in the Egyptian underworld and as a lady at King Henry VIII's court.

Here's Ivanka peeping those old farmers.

Here's Ivanka pretending to help Dr. Bunsen Honeydew with science.

Here's Ivanka trying to get in on dat God finger.

Here's Ivanka in bed with John and Yoko.

Here's Ivanka on a construction beam after pretending to "work."

Here's Ivanka listening to MLK but still low-key being anti-busing.

Here's Ivanka next to Jesus himself at the actual Last Supper.

Here's Ivanka pretending to have friends.

Here's Ivanka, like, totally slumming it!

Here's Ivanka embracing her inner mean girl.

Here's Ivanka taking credit for the work of black women.

Here's Ivanka "fighting" on the frontlines.

This Tweet is just savage and so good.

Here's Ivanka on the Titanic, but don't worry, her dad sent a helicopter for her when it sank.

Here's Ivanka witnessing the love story of a lifetime.

Finally, here's Ivanka politicking, and this one isn't even photoshopped. Ivanka really does just insert herself in places she has no business being because, again, being someone's daughter is not a good qualification for world diplomacy.

Kim K. Back to Ask Trump to Let Another Inmate Go

On a Mission to Free a Felon

These days, Kim Kardashian is spending more time at the White House than in her multi-million dollar mansion.

But she's not there for the chaos or (alleged) collusion, she's on a mission to make a difference one life at a time.

You may remember earlier this year when the reality star persuaded the Prez to grant clemency to Alice Marie Johnson, a grandma who was locked up to live out the rest of her life behind bars for cocaine trafficking and money laundering. After serving 22 out of who-knows-how-many years she had left to go, Johnson was set free, with none other than Kim K. to thank. And being incarcerated through the age of the internet, Johnson didn't even know what a Kardashian was.

Fast forward circa now, and Mrs. West is on a White House call once again. This time it's for Chris Young, "sentenced to life without parole after being arrested for marijuana and cocaine possession," according to USA Today.

Kardashian talked with Jason Flom, the host of " Wrongful Conviction," a podcast dedicated to cases they feel were unjustly finalized. She said, "Yesterday, I had a call with a gentleman that's in prison for a drug case – got life. It's so unfair. He's 30 years old. He's been in for almost 10 years."

According to Evening Standard, "Mr. Young, 30, suffers sickle cell anemia. He was given life because of prior drug cases in his teens. His prior convictions to get him to three strikes was marijuana, and then marijuana with less than half a gram of cocaine."

As USA Today reports, "The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star said she's working with former Tennessee Judge Kevin Sharp, who unwillingly handed down the harsh sentence to Young due to mandatory-sentencing regulations." And he resigned due to the regulation feeling it was unfair but his hands were tied at the time.

With the success she saw with Johnson, Kardashian is seeking a similar fate for Young. So, she's working her way up the Trump family tree. As per Page Six, "Kardashian said that she talks regularly with President Trump's son-in-law and aide, Jared Kushner, whom she called 'passionate' about changing sentencing laws." As for the Johnson case, Kardashian went through First Daughter, Ivanka. "I figured Ivanka [Trump] would totally understand and feel the same thing that I felt. So, my first call was to Ivanka," she admitted.

Will Trump take Kardashian's plea to heart and free Young as he did Johnson? If things go her way, Young will get a lucky break too. And with zero strikes so far, Kardashian will likely move on to another case she feels was unjust.

Keeping Up With the Kardashians is getting serious. Now this is reality.
