"Once Upon a Time In Hollywood" Trailer Suggests Tarantino Made Another Masterpiece

Tarantino is in his element tackling the Manson murders in Hollywood.

Quentin Tarantino isn't known for his humility. After all, not many directors would end a movie with the line "I think this just might be my masterpiece."

But unlike other arrogant auteurs, Tarantino's movies consistently live up to his ego. Most of them really are masterpieces. So it's always an exciting day for film buffs when a new Tarantino trailer drops.

Today is one of those days. Here's the first trailer for Once Upon a Time In Hollywood:

The bright, somewhat muted color palette screams the late 60s. There's a gritty, backlot feel that bleeds into every shot even when it's not on a backlot. Tarantino transports us to old Hollywood.

The cast looks phenomenal too. Leonardo DiCaprio brings his aging star vibe to the washed-up Western lead actor, and Brad Pitt somehow passes as his stunt double. Mike Moh dazzles with a killer Bruce Lee impression. Margot Robbie is believable as tragic starlet Sharon Tate and, in the brief clip we see him, Damon Herriman is a dead ringer for Charlie Manson.

Tarantino tends to do wonders with historical fiction, and the initial trailer for Once Upon a Time In Hollywood gives us incredibly high hopes for the finished product.

Check out the trailer above to tide you over until its July release.
