Blonde bombshells dominating the international scene? Sydney Sweeney and Sabrina Carpenter hands down. They’re both stunning, they’re both talented, and they both have dazzling platinum blonde hair that helps them stand out in a crowd.

But even their bombshell looks can’t save them from online wrath. Sydney and Sabrina are being dragged through the mud for exhibiting “pick-me girl” behavior.

Here’s what to know:

What Did Sydney Sweeney Do?

When Sydney started selling men’s bath soap that allegedly incorporated her used bath water, the feedback she received was far from positive. She originally posed for Dr. Squatch’s brand several months ago with a sultry marketing campaign that knocked customers for a loop.

Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss” (priced at $8) sold out within seconds when it dropped on June 6th, causing site crashes and long wait queues. It’s undeniably a marketing success. But it isn’t getting much online love in the court of public opinion – especially from her female fans.

The comments section for Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss is riddled with rage:

  • I honestly thought this company was better than to offer something so unnecessarily sick and perverted. This company used to be cool and trendy. She’s gorgeous, but offering her dirty water, really? You guys didn’t need to stoop this low.
  • Sydney is constantly catering to horny men, yet claims she’s tired of being sexualized in Hollywood…
  • I’m done supporting her. She’s setting women back hundreds of years and feeding into the patriarchy.

On June 11th, Sabrina announced her latest album Man’s Best Friend on Instagram. She might’ve assumed the world would be thrilled to hear her latest drop. But fans were all fired up about the cover art.

The Man’s Best Friend cover shows Sabrina on all fours like a dog, while a man in a suit stands over her, yanking her hair like it’s a leash.

Sabrina’s comment section is outraged:

  • This isn’t satire. This is not empowering to women. You missed the mark by so much, hon. Delete please.
  • I can’t be the only one who thinks this is dehumanizing for women. Let’s not normalize this type of content.
  • This cover is so disappointing. So degrading and not empowering for women at all. You have little girls following you! Especially with the rise of male misogyny, we need icons like you to do better!

They both have very little to say. An interviewer from E! News asked Sydney about her Dr. Squatch collab, “I pitched it.”

She’s boldly owning her decision to sell her own bathwater to eager customers… and it doesn’t look like she’s backing down anytime soon. One thing’s for sure: the controversial bathwater ad has quietly vanished from Sydney’s Instagram. Dr. Squatch, however? Still posting away and raking in the dough.

And what about Sabrina? Well, she heard her fan base loud and clear. She released a follow-up cover for her album that’s more appropriate than the original. She uploaded the new cover with this caption, “Here is a new alternate cover approved by God, available now on my website.”

That crack about “God’s approval” is peak Sabrina — playful, deflective, and just self-aware enough to hint she got the memo from her fans.
